With a good enough forgers kit and disguise kit, a pc can theoretically have dozens of fake IDs, and if one gets a bounty/compromised, they can just toss that ID away along with the corresponding ID..
How do YOU handle it if/when pcs get to that level (with those 2 skills)? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

the harder they are to track and the harder they are to capture - the higher the bounty gets and the more money the boss's spend on slicers and hunters.
I have had bossk and even IG-88 after a player before.
every character has an mo that can be tracked - imagine the players surprise when after switching 2 faces with disquise - they get a knock on their door with a stun grenade set above the doorframe and fett himself tracking the target from the balcony 3 floors up. Having successfully found the player from their first bounty on them - and the 17 others who matched the character's mo and face - and the 6 who matched the second set - and the 3 who matched this one. |

For a lot of high tech worlds you need a slicer also for the computer support.
Two kinds of false Id's in general.
1) to get something short term a few uses
Easier to make, good for getting restricted items locations, good for one or two uses depending on the planet.
2) something for long term use, living as that Id for more then a few days.
Harder to make, need to have slicer skills to maintain the Id in the governing body's databases.
Could have maintenance cost to keep the Id functional |

Hm.. Never even thought of that 'needs to pay to keep it up and functioning' angle. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

It was a different kind of game, but I once had an encounter where the ID had an uncanny resemblance to a criminal. By coincidence the two ran into each other. Unhappiness ensued. _________________ __________________________________
Before we take any of this too seriously, just remember that in the middle episode a little rubber puppet moves a spaceship with his mind. |

DOH.. One of the characters in sparks maintains a Vader suit (and with his high con and other skills) to pull off impersonating vader for certain missions.
I even had a thread asking for what might happen if he was on a mission IN his vader mock up, and he came face to face with the real vader.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
