Okay so in my game my group was attacked by walker size versions of the Dwarf Spider Droid -
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/DSD1_dwarf_spider_droid
Except these versions had newer heavy energy resistant armor plating and a set of twin fire linked blaster cannons.
One of my PC's succeed in snagging the pair of cannons off one in the latest battle.
Now he wants to take one of them and make it into a Heavy Gauge Blaster Assault Cannon - the kind you wield like a minigun. He already has a suit with enhanced strength servos so the lifting it isn't the issue.
The issue is that its a walker scale cannon - but the droid is not so big as for the scale between character and walker to make this seem improbable.
I would like to allow it because of the situation they are in - but what would you all suggest I do?
Also the cannon has a 4m blast radius - and he wants to remove this for more pinpoint shots - how would you all handle that? |

Ok, the original is 2 m tall, how big is this droid?
If its Walker damage, then I suppose it would be Walker scale penalty to hit small targets (unwieldly) and the blast radius would be part of the damage output. Pin Point shots with a cannon? _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |

4.3 meters tall is what i described them at.
Small for walker scale but still walker scale. there are walkers that are only 3 meters tall.
The blast radius is actually described as the blaster bolt it fires being unstable so it de-coalesces upon impact. This also limits the range of the weapon - one of the droids flaws - the other being it cannot detect anyone if they are under its dome. |

On reducing its Blast radius, i would say that would be a (A) blaster engineering roll (say moderate diff) to change.
On the wielding, i would definitely give him say a -2d possibly even -3d dex penalty while wielding it. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Agreed on the Dex penalties. Also, the cannon isn't the problem; How is your guy going to power this thing? Generators are pretty heavy, even in Star Wars. You might be better off just converting an AT-PT (or RT), unless you just really want a Battle Suit of Doom. _________________ Aha! |
