Well, I still think you are wrong. The difference between WWII battleships and carriers is that search capabilities would make it relatively easy to sweep the limited volume of a planet's surface, making it next to impossible to hide something the size of a battleship or carrier somewhere that a patrol plane or surveillance satellite couldn't spot it. The problem is vastly different in space, and the problem of hiding something the size of a capital ship somewhere out of the way is greatly simplified.
So, that being said, I'm going to proceed on the assumption that the Alliance was able to acquire enough ex-Separatist ships that they are a noticeable presence in the Alliance's rag-tag mix of fleet ships. You are free to not use them as you see fit. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Exactly, also since space has three dimensions it would make finding a starship harder than finding one on a one dimensional plane such as an ocean, hence us finding unexploded bombs in a three dimensional areas ie buried under ground. Also the alliance would need to have gotten enough ships to be a credible threat to the empire otherwise it could have been blown off. If the alliance was able to acquire a large amount of separatist ships they would not be just some planetary rebellion but a credible threat. On the topic of the empire finding the ships, it took many decades for the Katana Fleet to be found and it had 200 ships in it, Now if that is possible, fleets of sep warships could have survived the war drifting in space. Although I have to agree that by the time of the battle of Yavin, many of the sep ships in alliance hands would have been destroyed by the empire in prior engagements. |

It was even established in the EU that some of the Separatist Hold-Out forces actually joined the Rebel Alliance directly, and that make sense to me. The Rebel Alliance has a motley rag-tag collection of ships, weapons and other technology. I think the Alliance definitely uses some Separatist ships because they use whatever they can get their hands on. However, since they use whatever they can get their hands on, there would be a lot of other sources too. The Rebels would be just as likely use Old Republic ships, Imperial ships, local ships, alien ships, you name it.
So would there some Separatist ships in the Rebel Alliance? Most certainly. But are those Separatist ships a large percentage of the Alliance fleet? Certainly not. _________________ *

Just thought I'd mention that the Bulwark Cruisers were retconned into being Seperatist ships originally and as someone mentioned there's always Rebel One as precident.
I'll say though, I don't think they'd use battle droids though. As the clone wars showed, they were too vulnerable and incompetent against the creativity and intelligence of clone troopers. Plus, out of everything the Rebel Alliance lacked, I can't recall volunteers ever being one of them.
One interesting thing to bring up would be Seperatist ships converted to Imperial use! In the Essential Guide to Warfare, it mentions that the Empire inherited two Military Industrial Complexes that fuelled it's ship buildup. I can definitely see them repurposing or modifying seperatist ships. For example, one of the comics shows a freighter that resembles the Banking Clan Frigate, so maybe that's what the Seperatist factories were turned to in the years after the Clone Wars. _________________ His eyes are shifty. The biggest problem i see with the seperatist ships is the command and control centers relied on Neimoidian cybernetic control interfaces.
Unless you have volunteers for cyber surgery that's a lot of rewiring and safeties to bypass. |

We've already established that the ships would require refits for Alliance service, and updating their control systems would fall under that. Personally, I doubt this kind of refit would be any more extensive or complicated than, say, converting a passenger liner into a star cruiser. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
