Actually, it was an amazing thing when Oota (Insane, Over-Equipped Rodian Bounty Hunter) had to pull his bootknife out.
He had it throughout all his adventures, and he's pretty much had to only use it once. Well, aside from opening letters and spreading jam on bread.
After he had been stripped of his NovaTech Power Armour by a Percussion Cap & Ball Single-Shot Pistol (No, I'm not joking), we still had to take out a large number of wooden sailing Pirate ships. So, he stripped down to his green Speedo undies and weapon belt, and went to do the deed with his "Emergency Stash" of Thermite and Detonators. But, for some reason, he had to go onboard one of the ships.
Where he used his Leet Naked Ninja Skills to take out the sentries with his knife. First time he's ever used it. Many years of playing the character. Surprised the thing hadn't rusted in place. |

I like Slugthrowers, and I saw a picture of a slugthrower that has another slugthrower barrel on it with two trigers. So i guess i like that to. _________________ Morpheus Grifullkin

My favorite weapon is the LumaFlare.
We once botched a robbery attempt at a weapons dealer, and my character wound up trapped in a small, unfurnished room with the owner. I was sure he had better combat stats than me, and was probably better armed, so I launched two lumaflares in the room. Since I was rolling damage, I knew how many character points to spend to soak it, and even if the blast hadn't incapacitated him, he had two perception rolls coming to avoid being blinded. |

I my opinion nothing beats the good old light repeating blaster rifle!
Fit a bayonet at the end and you have a nice spear for those close encounters 8) |

I have to go with a club. You can always find something to use as a club. But for more SW style weapons I like the bi-polar carbine. |

I have to say lightsaber.
"Your father's light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random
as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. For over a thousand generations,
the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the
dark times... before the Empire."

Yep, as stereotypical as it is, I love me a lightsaber.
Outside of that, I like silenced slugthrowers and Rodian throwing razors _________________ Hotaru no Hishou; a messageboard about games, friends and nothing at all.

I love it when new people bump these old threads!
One of the many things I love about Star Wars are the Lightsaber battles. They are a flashier and deadlier improvement on the good-old-fashion sword fights which I also love (Or do I love sword-fighting because of my childhood fascination with Star Wars? hmm).
Blaster fights (between people or ships) are cool too. This reminds me of a time a few years ago when I was talking to one of my buddies since childhood (also a big Star Wars fan), and I was getting all deep and philosophical about why I love Star Wars. I stopped and asked him point blank, why do you love Star Wars, Mike?
He said, "Uh... CHA-CHEW, CHA-CHEW!" (imitates high-pitched blaster sound).
I LMAO and realized that his simple answer was equally valid as my long "essay" answer. I think his answer can be translated as "cool sci-fi action". That speaks volumes to me because, no matter how serious I get about the meanings of Star Wars, they are great action-adventure films. Mike and I are both action-adventure junkies. Maybe that is not why we love Star Wars, but rather Star Wars is why we love action-adventure? Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Amnyway, even though it was not explicitly stated the OP, I think the intention of this thread was to discuss the best weapons for players to choose for their PCs, perhaps from a game mechanic perspective. Sorry I can't answer that because I'm a GM at heart and don't have any favorite weapons. I view all weapons and technology as mere tools to tell help the story. My responses above are from a film viewer/fanboy standpoint. _________________ *

Lightsaber and then it would be a toss up between the Caelli-Merced Sentinel IV Heavy Blaster Pistol or the T-6 ‘Thunderer’ Heavy Blaster Pistol. All awesome weapons in the right hands. _________________ "Well hello Mister Fancypants.
