Could you design something that could generate NPCs for Game Master's to use? Put in just a few criteria such as Race, sex, class, affiliation (i.e. Rebellion, Empire, etc), and a few other non specifics. That could really help out Game masters trying to come up with NPCs for their adventures. _________________ If you run .... you will only die tired! |

Hey, that's a cool idea, I like it! I'll have to work on that... _________________ "Mind what you have learned. Save you it can." --Yoda

This could really help Game Masters out a lot. You could create a group of NPCs in a few minutes with names and everything. Half the challenge about being a Game Master is that you have to keep coming up with NPCs and all those names. _________________ If you run .... you will only die tired! |

the funniest thing that i use as a gamemaster when it comse to character creation is that i actually threaten my players with coming up with a name or else i send them to your list, which takes them hours to find an appropriate name (at least for that character)... it's hilarious... |

That is awesome. The funny thing is that a name is the toughest part of making a character. Yeah, players hate that. _________________ If you run .... you will only die tired! |

The idea of a random character generator is cool.
Gives a simple GM's job a little twist. |

Not to mention for those people who can't seem to ever come up with a background/qoute/personality/objectives, they could borrow something from there. |

for character names as of late, i look up in my Star Trek rpg book for some cool name suggestions... like Crell Damar is a Cardassian name... the only reason I do that instead of using the uber list on the site is because sifting through all the names gets to be a long and involved task... _________________ "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. That's a good idea. I also use non-Star Wars sources (books, movies, whatever) for names from time to time. _________________ "Mind what you have learned. Save you it can." --Yoda

It would make things easier. I tend to come up with adventure ideas that never really get beyond the idea stage because I start creating the NPCs first and get bored with each after a little bit so I work on the next one. After three or four major NPCs are begun, and left unfinished no less, for the adventure, I just stop entirely. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!
