http://originsgamefair.com/events/

The events grid has been posted for Origins Game Fair. It's huge! I'm looking it over for possible games to play.

It would be really cool if all you Ohio+ guys could come to Columbus for it! I'd love to meet you guys. Maybe we could even have a little Rancor Pit get-together. Maybe garhkal or someone else could even run a game for us?

garhkal, what adventures are you running at Origins this year?

Sweet!
I'll be at Origins with a few members of my home group.
Looking forward to meeting everybody!

I had to piss around with downloading it to a separate laptop that is still running Office 2000, then shift it into a different format to put it on THIS computer, before the dam thing would open in my "Open office 4.1" (since office 2k won't work on Win 8)..

But now that is done, my list for Origins is

Wednesday evening, i am playing one of the 3 open slots
Thursday i am playing Sparks 141A (hopefully i get a ticket) at 9am. At 2pm i am running Sparks 78 (one of my modules i wrote), and later in the evening at 7pm i am running Sparks 133 (not one of my modules, but i remember it as a fun one).
Friday at 9am onward, i am playing all 3 in the Sparks 205 series.
Saturday at 9am, i am playing Sparks 120.
At 2pm i am playing Sparks 204.
For the Seminar i am running one of the 3 mission tables (and i already have it all wrote out).
Sunday, i am running 2 more of my modules. Sparks 169 at 9am, and Sparks 72 at 2pm.

That's a full schedule. So it looks like the only way to game with you during Origins would be to play a Sparks adventure you are playing in or running. It seems you won't have any downtime for non-convention gaming. Since I've already played with you, I'd be more interested in playing in one of the three adventures you are running and wrote, to experience garhkal the GM. But I'm not a morning person, so the Thursday or Sunday at 2pm are probably my best options.

Sweet indeed! Do you know when you guys will be there and what you want to do? I'd be more tempted to play Sparks again if I could also game with more Rancor Pit people.

We will get in on Wed. but we haven't set a time yet. Garhkal's Sparks 78 is now at the top of my list. Our plan is to split between SW D6, Call of Cthulhu, AD&D 1 or 2e (though I haven't found much) and a minis game. My 14 year old son will be attending his first Origins this year so I am really looking forward to this year.

Cool. I'll try to get into Sparks 78 on Thursday too.

Now for Wednesday night, are we talking garhkal running a non-convention game for the rest of us? That would awesome.

Oh, OK. I still have the sheets for my Origins '09 character. Is he still good or would I have to make a new one?

Did you become a member of the group (5 bucks a year)? If so, then yes. If not, then technically each con you showed up at you should have made a new guy. BUT i have not really seen that part enforced.
So bring it any way..

I've only played in Sparks once back in 2009, one long day with 3 adventures. No, I have never paid a annual membership fee, so that answers it. I must have read that at one time and thought that might be the case, which is why I've asked. I never thought I would play Sparks again so I didn't want to bother with the fee. You know how I feel about mixing highly advanced and starting-level PCs in the same player group. The only reason I even want to play now is because you are running it and I think you are probably a good GM. I'm only going to play one Sparks adventure this year, and I'm not asking for any favors or exceptions, so if the rules say I start new then I start new.

I can only hope that all the players that get into my game have low or starting level PCs. But if not, then I'll just depend on you to balance it out and make it fun for everyone.

If you only played 3 sessions, then it shouldn't be much needed to just keep the character as is when you built it up.. just bring everything is as is. I am asking on our Council site if that rule is still even used/enforced.
When i get an answer, i will get back to you.

Ok, nobody even mentioned the membership last year, the GM just filled out the paperwork and told me it was good for any Sparks event. Do you have a link to the membership sign up? I only played in a couple of games last year. Honestly that's what got me interested in playing again.

In 2009 I played three adventures with two different GMs, and I'm pretty sure was never told of any membership option to be able to reuse the same character. But I didn't ask either.
