A Verpine, a shard, and a MSE-6.
The trouble they could cause and get into. |

Oh my. That could be hilarious. Or terrible. Or maybe both. _________________ __________________________________

One thing i thought was both shard and Verpine have radio communications. I would assume both have a different language the question is can they learn each other's language? Or would the radio technology be incompatible? |

Hmm, good question. My initial thoughts? I'd like to think that they could communicate, but each species' electromagnetic transmissions can only be transmitted in the natural 'language', so anyone could only understand the transmissions easily if they learned the 'language'. This applies to non-natives receiving transmissions through specially tuned comlinks. But these electromagnetic languages could only be understood, and not reproduced by non-natives. And I think the Verpine spoken language would be a different language from their radio-only language. So some non-Verpine, maybe only insectile species, could learn to speak the Verpine spoken language, but not the radio language. _________________ *

Works for me.
Basically Verpine have 2 languages, shards would have one. A "tuned" comm link probably has a built in translator. |

Shards are cool, Verpine are better, i like tech chars, i can play anything but tech is my favorite. Everyone seems to complain about most races that have a 5 technical. Shards have a 6, and+1D bonus to all computer related checks.
Now i also understand why some people complain about that. I haven't been around for any complaints about high strength or dexterity races, but i assume they have issues to some people also.
I also do a lot of what if type thinking, just happens to be my current obsession right now. |

Maybe, but the Shard-droid internal interface should be able translate the Shard transmissions. |
As long as the droid can speak 8)
The tuned comm link would be for other then droid. |

Check out all the threads on the "Bullet proof wookie" syndrom to see all the people complaining about high Str characters. A high Tech character is just as bad. ANd one that can get 6d tech +1d to all computer rolls means a starting cha can be rolling 10d on any comp roll (6d base, +2d allocation, +1d specialty, +1d racial). I am sorry but for a starting PC, that is WAY the F out there. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
