Has anyone figured out a good ship for the rebel alliance to use to transport its vehicles for ground combat. looking at the sizes of some of their equipment in the alliance source book I am having a hard time figuring out what ships the alliance would use to land these vehicles into a combat zone. |

The Gallofree Medium Transport seems like it would do the trick for all but the biggest stuff. As a capital ship it would have the survivability. _________________ "Yes because killing the guy you always planned on usurping and killing anyways in order to save your own kid, totally atones for murdering a roomful of innocent trusting children." The problem I see with one of those transports is that unloading might not be very efficient time wise, I was thinking of a transport that could be launched from a cruiser in orbit or launched during combat to drop in troops and support vehicles. |

I have always liked the Wayfarer for a quick-drop ship. http://d6holocron.com/wiki/index.php?title=Wayfarer_Medium_Transport _________________ "Yes because killing the guy you always planned on usurping and killing anyways in order to save your own kid, totally atones for murdering a roomful of innocent trusting children." This is my version of the Kleeque-Class Heavy Transport. It's a converted inter-system ferry, designed with passenger space as well as parking decks for both ground and air vehicles. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. That kleeque looks much better than the original, do you think that it would be able to fit in one of the hangers of an mc80 cruiser |

Don't think so, at 250 m it wouldn't fit in the main hanger of an ISD. _________________ "Yes because killing the guy you always planned on usurping and killing anyways in order to save your own kid, totally atones for murdering a roomful of innocent trusting children." The Brain |

It just seems kinda vulnerable if used in fleet actions, i was looking at those ageis freighters from the darkstyder campaign and I thought those might work for smaller vehicles |

The wayfarer looks like a good option for some of the smaller vehicles and the starfighters in the picture allow for a visualization of how much can be stored and it think that it would be able to fit in a ships hanger with only a little loss of fighters. The only problem I see is that it looks like from the description on the holocron is that it had a short production run. But if the alliance could reverse engineer it I could see it being used. |

If you're looking for something specifically launched from a MonCal ship, then there's no reason that the MC-80 wouldn't be equipped with at least 1 of these:

This should be able to carry troops and a decent amount of vehicles down to a planet's surface from orbit. _________________ RR

Exactly. This is supposed to be an independent ship, not requiring any transport assistance apart from underway replenishment for long voyages. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. The Aegis is actually supposed to be a combat shuttle, and while it can carry small vehicles, it doesn't quite work for bulk landing an armor company or battalion.
As far as fleet actions, troop transports generally avoid them like the plague, so I'm not sure that's a concern... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. If you are looking for capital ships that can carry troops, there are the Acclamator and Venator from the prequels, as well as the Victory Star Destroyer and the CC9600 Frigate... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
