How many total sectors are in the Star Wars Galaxy?

And by that I mean, not every unknown sector not yet mapped...but main sectors on most maps of considerable consensus. In reasing through the campaign modules, there seems to be references to a lot of different sectors that only come up in passing conversations and reports and things like that. Has anyone ever done a tally?

I've run it up to 187 by doing a search for the word sector on the Unoffical Encyclopedia. If I counted all the entires that did not say location correctly then there is 37 hits our of 224 that do not say location when you do a search for the word sector. We could probably drop this number down as probably some of the sectors in there overlap. And some aren't even actual sectors. So 187 isn't the final number.

Well then, between our two searches we could reasonably guess there are at least 112 sectors, and probably no more than 187 commonly known. That's a good starting point. If you want I can send you the list I was able to find.

It's a list I made off the entries from the site. The link itself doesn't have a list on it. If the link had a convient, easy to read list on it do you think I would offer to send him a list, knowing the link already provided the info?

I've been working on an uber map project, and so far I've accumulated information on a total of 175 sectors, and I'm still finding more. I'd have to conmpare my list to the list that Endwyn provided and see if any are of those I don't have.

My roughest guess is that there are probably a good 200 or more named sectors in Star Wars. Finding them all is the big trick, though.
