Again I would just place them in alphabetical order in the appropriate section. Make sure each write-up has a Source for it and call it done. _________________ Don Diestler

I've been doing a lot of organizing of official and unofficial stats recently, and for my purposes I sort them into categories:
official
converted
fanmade
inferred
arbitrary
random
Those are also the order in which I rank the stats. It's a helpful rubric. |

I'm assuming the last three are sub-catagories under fanmade? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

Correct. Technically they could also be under converted as well, as that is not always an exact science. |

Cool. In all honesty, my main reason for wanting things broken up into sections is so that I know where to direct my grumbling over a stat that I don't like. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I think this is a bit all over the place. Perhaps if we were to all work from same set of definitions.
Official: it appeared in a WEG product.
Fanmade: 100% from scratch. This may include gaming magazine articles (Ex. Challenge, Shadis, etc) as well as non-game stats converted to D6.
Fanmade Converted: appeared in another officially licensed product for another system other than D6.
Fanmade Inferred: ?????
Arbitrary: ?????
Random: ????? _________________ Don Diestler

I think what he means is:
Official - Published by WEG
Converted - Published by WOTC or FFG, with stats converted to D6
Fanmade - Officially exists in EU (Clone Wars TV series, etc.) but no official stats exist in any system
Inferred - Does not officially exist beyond a brief description or mention
Arbitrary / Random - Does not officially exist in any official material _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

That's pretty close. The terminology I tend to use is this:
Official - WEG stat
Converted - Originated in another official game (WOTC/FFG)
Fanmade:
Inferred - Stats created compared to similar stats and derived from obviously similar data. If you have hull codes for all YT-series ships as related to their lengths, assigning a new one easily fits the pattern. Ie, obvious or pattern based.
Arbitrary - A stat created with no similar pattern to draw from, just common sense. Creating the hull code of a brand new type of craft from a new manufacturer. Ie, best guess.
Random - Stats made by wild guessing when no good data exists. Let's admit, this happens some times. Ie, shot in the dark |

I'm pretty much done with the YT ships, I'm going to contact a couple of people and did a slight alteration on the on the yt-1900 based on board comments about the size and configuration as well as adding a couple of variants based on board comments that I thought were great, some of the capsule write-ups will be thin, and 'thin' is being generous at best...
I just got finished with the HT model and got almost another 30 ships before I'm done, since I have never done a source book before and don't know how to put a PDF together, much less host one, is there anyone who can help me with that stuff???

Where I can, I want to use as many official pictures of the ships as possible leaving those that are fan made, that have deck plans or sketchs as 'production designs' from the CEC...I'm thinking of writing this like a JC Penny Christmas Catalog... _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

Make sure you get permission from any artists before you use their pictures.... or else it causes tension (long story....) _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

I am done gathering stats, writing or editting capsules as well as gathering pics for some of these ships there were no pics and little in the way of a capsule to tell the user anything about them. I will differentiate between the various lines of ships and have decided to add addendum comments by a series of infamous smugglers... Also since a few of these ships were noted as modified versions of the vessels, I have modified them back to what I think 'Stock' might have been...
I would love to do this up like a galaxy guide, with a cover included as it is approaching 70 pages in length before I add the addendums and fluff pieces....Is there anyone who can walk me through the process of making it a PDF?
