Capsule: The NTB-630 naval bomber was jointly produced by the Incom and Subpro Corporations during the Clone Wars. The NTB-630 was more heavily armed and armored than its close cousin, the ARC-170 starfighter, and the similar PTB-625 planetary bomber. With a narrow spaceframe flanked by at least two large engines, the NTB-630 resembled other Incom/Subpro starfighters such as the Z-95 Headhunter, the PTB-625, and the ARC-170. The NTB-630 was created to deliver its payloads while engaged in space battles, and was therefore also more maneuverable than the PTB-625, allowing it to get close to capital ships and avoid their turbolasers as it executed bombing runs. The bomber was crewed by at least one pilot. The bomber saw common use by Galactic Republic forces during the Clone Wars. Jedi Master Wom-Nii Gnaden piloted an NTB-630 during the Battle of Crombach Nebula, and crashed into the Munificent-class star frigate Tide of Progress XII after his bomber was damaged, causing the Jedi to lose control of his ship. _________________ Don Diestler

This is good. Good looking ship and a nice, balanced stat for a starfighter during the Clone Wars. The only thing I would do different is increase the ammo for the proton torpedoes, but that's just my preference. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Thanks crmcneill. As for the number of torpedoes. I understand having more would be desirable but I do not recollect (doesn't mean there are none) starship having 10's of torpedoes on them. If there are some officially stat'd ship could you list a few to compare with? Would be appreciated.
Btw, I think this is a great catch. This ship is mentioned only in a few places, mostly when speaking about the ARC-170. So its a ship without written information or a picture. This is pretty much fan created from the image design to the actual stats. _________________ Don Diestler

There aren't any more that I know of, which is why I included the caveat of personal preference. If anything, the ammo as listed makes this ship a slightly less capable (i.e. slower) Y-Wing. This, in turn, would better fit with the Y-Wing still being in use in front line service with the Alliance as of the Battle of Yavin. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Just out of curiosity, would the PTB-625 Planetary Bomber be based on the same design? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

The naming, creative companies and time frame are all consistent. I would say there is a strong possibility they are connected. I would be hesitant to consider them in the same design though as the PTB is described as having a narrow body and large engines to the sides. That does not seem the same visually as the NTB.
NTB = Naval Tactical Bomber
PTB = Planetary Tactical Bomber _________________ Don Diestler

You used almost the exact same description (narrow body flanked by large engines) in your capsule for the NTB, though... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. That I did, but then again, I believe I cut and pasted that description from the description on DeviantArt. Will have to look into it. _________________ Don Diestler
