Materials were expensive, it was hard to work with, the metal did not cover the ship completely, etc., while shields were more effective and less inconvenient.
Zarn, I like your stats. I'm going to use them, but I don't think I will use the max damage of 6D (none of my players are wookiees, so I don't need to worry about crazy melee damages).
