For the last Wraith book there was more then one squadron. Something like a double blind experiment. But there was the original Wraiths then they became NRI Wraiths and who knows maybe they trained more the one other group... Hmm that would make an interesting story the reformed group under Piggy has to take down the group they trained before/ during the Vong War because they have gone rogue _________________ "For over a thousand weeks, the Expanded Universe was the guardian of peace and justice in the Star Wars Universe. Considering the fate of the official X-Wing Sourcebook, maybe the Wraith Squadron book could be expanded to cover all the X-Wing series material. I'd like to see a chapter on optional rules for starship combat as seen in the comics and novels... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Daniel here.
I'm finally finished with my next adventure, Asylum, and I'm going to start tackling the Wraith Squadron Sourcebook.
crmcneill, I can add in optional ship combat rules. I'd need to work with you on them so we can put them in, but I want to keep the book specifically for Wraith Squadron at this time.
However, I eventually want to do a Rogue Squadron book as well. Could I have your email address to begin collaboration? _________________ Don Diestler

I'm up for covers if you want them, just give me an idea of what you want on there when you get further down the line...
And I can assist with proof-reading and layout if needed, just say the word.

I sent crmcneill, TyCaine, and Kirkler an email concerning the planning phase of the book. If you didn't get the email, please send me a message here or email me so I can fix the list.

Can we discuss here or would you prefer we coordinate via email? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

Well, I would like for kirkler and yourself to coordinate on your starfighter combat rules, so if you could be so kind as to start speaking with him, that would be awesome! _________________ Don Diestler

I think that was to me, since it is the portion of the project he wanted me to work on, but your input would be appreciated. The core concept that I am working from is that the starfighter combat rules in the X-Wing series diverges from WEG's RAW in favor of the X-Wing video games. For example, combat shields in the X-Wing novels provide all around coverage rather than being split between fire arcs, but can be shifted between front and back; proton torpedoes are guided by lock on signals from the X-Wing rather than simply being dumbfire; ion cannon do not just pass through shields, etc.
My goal will be to come up with an optional rule set for starfighter and space combat that applies combat as depicted in the X-Wing series to the D6 rule set. Ideally, the rules will be as simple as possible to facilitate fast paced gaming and storytelling, with an emphasis on using as few rules and steps as possible. The first step would be to generate a list of instances in the X-Wing series where things occur in combat that are not possible under the RAW, or that at least differ from the RAW. Any help in this area would be appreciated, and please make sure to include references (book and page #) to facilitate discussion, with final decision as to what rules should and should not be included made by shootingwomprats. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
