This is what I would say. Just use the attributes for Republic Clone Troopers from the conversion book floating around instead of "normal human."

Now how would a characters experience points be after 20 odd years? |
This is tough. It would really come down to a call by your GM. Some GMs will allow for different skill levels in a starting party, some won't. Depending on how detailed a backstory you gave me, I might be inclined to give you some extra skill dice or character points to reflect his above normal experience. Giving the character a prosthetic wouldn't be an issue for me either, unless you wanted to start tricking it out.
What I might incorporate would be a "lowered skills" from lack of use, and allow the character to have incremental boosts to those skills as the character adventures and re-sharpens his skills. These might be in lieu of character points, or in addition, depending on the situation.
I did this for an ARC trooper character I made, who had lost a bit of his edge living outside of war and civilization for a few years. His combat skills had dropped a bit, so he was less skilled than an average ARC trooper, but his survival skills had stayed decent because he was living off the land. As the character progressed through the story, I was hoping that he would start to buy back to his Commando edge. _________________ RR

Something like that. Although this was going to be after he got his butt kicked by a 3-man ARC grab team coming for his teammate, a team that hasn't lost their edge since the end of the wars. He then would dedicate himself to hardening up again. Before that, all of his points were going to go toward becoming a better investigator and bounty hunter, since his skills are more than enough to clean up common street filth. _________________ RR

To go back to the original question, there's several ways of transferring minds in the Star Wars EU.
Physically moving the brain: The B'omarr monks (mentioned earlier) had a somewhat aggressive full-body cyborg conversion program set up, for instance what may or may not have happened to Bib Fortuna.
This was also indicated in SWTOR's Lord Grathan (the Duchess) story arc, where a droid is heavily intimated to either have transferred the mind, or be changed into a full-body cyborg.
Re-writing the mind: The Ssi-Ruuvi entechment procedure seemed to be a technological re-writing of the mind into another device, together with the 'life force' of the victim. Just like a Universal Energy Cage, the technology changed or affected the Force, too, and was detectable and and the subject capable of being influenced through the Force.
Mystical: Through the Force, some Dark Side practitioners (the Emperor / Darth Sidious for one) could transfer their life essence into a suitable receptacle. Though better if the recipient body was as close to the original as possible (the Emperor had genetically modified clone bodies), this seemed to be more of a matter of convenience or completeness rather than necessity.
Freedon Nadd (as a Dark Side spirit) wanted Exar Kun to create a new body for him through Sith alchemy, pointing towards the option of making golem-like or Frankenstein Monster's-like 'new homes' for Dark Side spirits.
Another example of this would be the practice that was used for creating the silent behemoths guarding some dungeon ships - they were essentially a form of Dark Side homonculi, mind dominated by Dark Side adepts. |
