I cant remember his name off hand .... jabba's henchman the Twilek had his mind transfered to a jar by the bomarr monks at jabbas palace and he later tricked them into transferring his mind back to a Twilek body .....
but it seems to me that with mind transferrence all previously learned skills would transfer directly but all of the physical ones would be changed depending on the new body
if you were to transfer the mind of a long time veteran storm trooper to a new body lets say oh a 60 kilo teenager then all of his learned martial arts ( boxing wrestling etcetera) would take a MAJOR hit due to having to train the new body up to the old ones strengths _________________ People keep telling me that I'm crazy. By "strengths" you probably man the strengths of the various skills. But that raises an interesting issue: the younger body (for this hypothetical veteran trooper) might actually be stronger and faster (i.e., better physically) than his older body. But the techniques and moves he's used to impletmenting (with his older, slower body) wouldn't be used to it. I could see the logic either way, in increasing (or decreasing) various attributes. Skills should probably be the same, as one's knowledge and memories would usually be trasnferred in their entirely. Things like muscle memory are a lot tougher to figure out.
BTW, that Twi'lek's name is Bib Fortuna. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Id planned for the Clone Trooper/ Bounty Hunter to die and the clone to inherit his name and memories...a life goes on kinda thing
But what if, what if the elder clone and the younger one were active at the same time and the younger one inherits his predecessors memories...but his personality develops differently. They become a team, the elder advisor tactician and the younger, the novice hunter, physically in his physical prime but with the youthful impatience...
Hang about, thats like a lot like Batman Beyond... |

Kind of.
With the Clone aging I have had a few different options...
1) cryogenics...have him frozen and defrosted a few years ago.
2) a hyperspace related time jump...time travel without time travel
3) have him not age due to the force or mutation or something
4) clone him, transfer his mind.
5) Cyborgize him
6) just ignore it.
7) give him the cure..
i have issues with some of them. i want an experienced bounty hunter to have lived through 20 odd years to the post ANH era. |

However, having Yargin clone himself and still be alive, i get two characters...
An older, experienced Yargin Ma'kol , bounty hunter, ex clone trooper and his clone, who has inherited Yargins memories and skillsl, but is full of youthful energy and enthusiasm.
Compare this to the Doctor in Doctor Who, a character who can change physically. His forst incarnation was a crochety old man, but his Fifth incarnation was youthful and his Tenth was full of energy. Also the recent War Doctor incarnation was a grizzled old warrior.
On the rare occasions the incarnations have met, and the differences become obvious, even though ITS THE SAME GUY!
Thats what Im on about. |

So he wants all the benefits of being a clone, but none of the down sides it seems.. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Something to keep in mind is that characters in Star Wars don't really have drops in attributes and skills unless they go unused for a very long time. So you could have a clone trooper who has kept his mind active and his body strong and appears to be in his 80s. I know of lots of strong, sharp people who are in 70s or 80s. Many times it's when they settle down, retire, stop doing things that their bodies and minds start to degrade more and more. _________________ RR

True. SW is one of the few game systems i have not really seen any concrete rules for penalties that come with aging, such as in DND. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

That might be because 1) movies take place in a short time frame and b) aging varies by species. Some species get TOUGHER as they age, while other have different functions (like Trandoshans lose their regeneration) |

Ok, gonna canvas opinion, you have a clone trooper turned bounty hunter who is approx 30-35 in real time, but physically at least in his sixties. But a fit sixties, prak fitness, able to kick @$$, but battle scarred, maybe a prosthetic cyborg limb somewhere.
What would you guys do with him? |

I would let him make a physically competent human with the normal stats, and wouldn't penalize him at all for being older (and would be fine with the character saying he was "the equivalen phyically of a 30 year-old"). _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Brilliant. What existing template I would use is the Renegade Clone trooper template from D6 Holocrons Dark Times sourcebook.
Now how would a characters experience points be after 20 odd years? |
