|
|
After reading ninjaxe's adventure thread, I got to thinking, what races can interbreed with humans? It is easy to assume 'near humans'. However, when I read about the half Twi Lek as the character's daughter, it surprised me a little. I know they are 'attractive' but interbreed able ???? Also, what do the interbreeds (that are not very near human) look like? What does a twi lek half breed look like? _________________ "And so I am become a knight of the Kingdom of Dreams and Shadows!" - Mark Twain

According to Wookiepedia, humans can produce offspring with: " Coynite, Echani, Ferroan, Hamadryas, Kiffar, Miraluka, Nagai, Theelin, Twi'lek, and a number of other species."
Officially, half-twi'lek look like this:
However, I am going with these stats and appearance:

wookiepedia, I should have thought of that ...
As for your picts ... I hate to sound like a idiot, but ... I'm an idiot ... what is the difference between them and a full blooded Twi Lek?
Now to expand the question, what is the social ramification of being a cross breed, and how easy is it for the various 'breeds' to pass as Human ? I know a Twi Lek can't but what about the other species ? _________________ "And so I am become a knight of the Kingdom of Dreams and Shadows!" - Mark Twain

True canon- blotchy skin, shorter lekku
Homebrewed- Slightly shorter lekku, body hair, paler skin color than twi'lek. |

I'd say a lot more ostracisation, especially from some of the home clan (for twiliks). Possible more crap from imperials for being a half breed. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Those two 1/2 Twi'leks up there are my work.
While I'm not bothered too much by it being posted here like this (as there is a link to the original site - Thanks Ninjaxenomorph) please, on behalf of myself and my fellow artists out here on the web, at least attempt to seek permission or credit the artist in future before posting stuff that they worked hard on.
Thanks

Oh, I'm sorry. I would have credited you if I had known you were on the forums. Hell, that write-up is better than the official Twi'lek rules, not to mention the art. |

No need to apologise Ninjaxenomorph, no harm done as you at least provided a link to where the art was intended. It was more just a friendly reminder to all really - courtesy to the artists if you use their work
Deano of TORIS (a great guy BTW), who can occasionally be found over on SWRPGNetwork, did the write-up, I only did the art.

Yeah, this. I would probably make it similar to what happens right now in our culture, where often people of mixed "races" aren't fully accepted by either race. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Another thought came to mind. Would mixed breeds get the same as their parents in relation to racial powers? Like would a human-twi'lik have the "Kinetic communication" capacity via the Lekku? What of a Human-Kiffar and psychometry?
Which race's min/max attribute values would get used? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

The Star Trek game we play (Decipher's CODA) has sone excellent rules for this. IIRC you often take the lower/weaker of the species maximums, and there's some boundaries on what racial abilities the character gets, too. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

That's some sweet art work.
By chance do you have pics up on the star wars artist's guild site? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I like that idea, at the least it is a good rule of thumb! _________________ "And so I am become a knight of the Kingdom of Dreams and Shadows!" - Mark Twain
