Hey all.
I have a character in development, but have hit a snag.
A former clone trooper who rebelled after order 66, and was turned on by his unit, left for dead, but survives to become a mercenary and eventually a bounty hunter in the outer regions. He also has had cosmetic surgery so he no longer looks like Jango.
Problem: clone troopers suffer from premature aging, due to their accelerated development and I figure he will be well past his best in the ANH era. I also know that theres a cure for this but its not available through conventional means, if you know your expanded canon, its in the possesion of another trooper turned Mandalorian who got it from a Kamino geneticist. Any suggestions?
Whilst my character does follow the mandalorian type due to the Jango Fett legacy, he is very much a loner. His ship and his droids are his only company most of the time. He has many battlescars and has a cybernetic arm.
Anyway to overcome the premature aging thing?[/u] |

Doesn't have to be Kaminoan clone.
Spaarti Clones didn't suffer that problem IIRC. _________________ http://swfallingstar.podbean.com

Or maybe he stole the cure and is on the run because Kaminoans are after him with a legal contract on his head backed by imperial government. |

He is specifically aging, so whilst he is chronologically say 28, he is physically in his late 50s. And he has been pursuing cures on his own and often goes into cryogenic sleep for a few months at a time. |

I have a similar situation for a character/NPC of mine. I'm thinking that it will take some time of research and adventuring to come up with a cure. But, I'm thinking that it will involve some serious medicine rolls and eventually a live sample of genetic material from a very long lived species like the Gen'dai. I was thinking that the team might have to track down and capture Durge or another Gen'dai bounty hunter. _________________ RR

Other than the DM helping you out with story lines where he can find or make his own cure, the only way i can see out of it is droiding yourself. Flash engram your mind into a robot body. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I am confused by this. Why not just explain it away? For mysterious reasons unknown, he never expected to live as long as he has. Having once gone to a colony where other Clone Troopers had set up a home, he was shocked at the apathy, loss of hope and squalor they lived in. He quickly discovered he was not aging at the same rate they were. Why? Was there something wrong with him? Was he developed by the Kiminoan secret project? Was it the Force? To what purpose?
There are tons of ways to explain this away and give the GM a ton or roleplaying and story ideas. Sometimes, you don't need a reason so much as a mystery surrounding the why. _________________ Don Diestler

Just make sure the GM is ok with those sorts of 'changes'. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Ironically, Ive never thought of a Force connection. However, his status as a bounty hunter, who has killed many times, does that mean he would be in touch witg the light or Dark side? Or a grey Force adept?
I have no real desire to make him a Jedi or a sith, but the Force conection?interesting. |

I can't remember if it was a long used HR, or something from one of the 1e books, but bounty hunter type characters who choose to be force sensitive at the start, DO start off with one DSP. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Also note that killing is not an automatic dark side point. Depending on your character's conduct, and the context of the kill, a dark side point may or may not be merited. |

Very true. Sniping say a security guard in a watch tower, while your comrades breach the walls into a prison to free your trapped comrades is ok, but sniping someone who is unarmed / non combattant? That might get you one. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I may have a solution, its extreme, but if the Kaminoan clones prematurley age, and Spaarti ones don't, they just grow quicker, then what if you clone a Clone?
If he gets a Spaarti clone cylinder and transfers his memories into the clone. |
