I've played this. It's a lot of fun.

Indeed.

I picked up the game just a few weeks ago, and have been playing it pretty steadily. That said, I remain a roleplayer at heart, and am looking to create a narrative missions campaign aspect to it, provided there's an audience for that sort of thing.

By the way, thanks Loc Taal, for setting this board up!

I've got some ships Smile
I haven't played in a couple months, but I quite like it. The mechanics are appropriately simple, and set up time is nicely low. Unfortunately, it's been a challenge to get my friends together to actually play the game, and my wife lost interest fairly quickly. That's about $200 just sitting on the shelf.

My wife did the same. However, my local gaming stores have a vibrant community, with weekly X-Wing times and periodic tournaments. Maybe stores in your area might have those too.

There's one store in my area Wink
People are willing to play, but, I'm not all that fussy about playing with people who aren't actual friends... getting together with friends is more the point than playing the game to me (though the game factors heavily as well). I suppose I could be less of a hermit and try to get to like those other people more Razz

That would certainly be my recommendation. I've had a great time meeting new people this way.

Though i don't own anything for it, our sparks group, has playtested 4 times now, running an ongoing campaign, using the Heroes of the Arturi cluster rules set. I find it fun, and relatively easy to play.

In fact, because of that, i am seriously considering buying the base Xwing boxed set, and 2-3 expansion packs myself..

My son got to play in a Barnes & Noble demo of the original game I watched a couple years ago. Then he and I played TFA version at our FLGS just a couple weeks ago. Neither one of us thought it was that fun.

I am thinking of buying some Xwing stuff, and am wondering, would it be easier to start small, then build it up slowly, or buy a moderate size "Lot" on Ebay??

For those who do play, do you sleeve your cards (both pilot and upgrade/damage ones). Or are the cards sturdy enough to go without?

I sleeve them all for Legion, I wanted to make sure they held up considering it is a big investment.

Being as that I've never worn out a card to any boardgame ever, I don't sleeve the cards. I did for the D20 game but that was the first and last time I've put card sleeves on something.
