Can someone link me to a possible explination of how to roll a character in this game correctly. Need it for a couple of new players. _________________ Experience is the excuse everyone gives for their mistakes |

Unlike D&D, this game has a form of point buy system.
Check out the Star Wars Roleplaying Game Revised & Expanded p23-36 This has everything you will need to build a new character. If you have any epecific questions, feel free to ask. |

A New Player Handout by Cheshire can be found here. You and your friends may find it to be of use. _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

Yeah, I've given that to people who have never roleplayed before in any system, and they showed up at the table with perfect beginning characters. _________________ __________________________________

Ok, after reading the player handout, I'm going to rephraze what I said before.
Take a look at the player handout and print a copy of that for your player(s). It has everything a new player needs to put together stats for a human character.
The R&E book, GG4, GG12, and Alien Anthology all have additional races that a character can use.
If you want the full character creation rules or need to clarify something from the player handout, check out the Star Wars Roleplaying Game Revised & Expanded p23-36.
Good luck! |

Thanks, I did it years ago, but I've not really done a whole lot to give it bumps on the board. I kind of forget that not everyone has been here as long as some of the old timers have. _________________ __________________________________

Not sure when you put it out, but I know that I joined up right at five years ago (August of 2007), although I did go MIA starting in August of 2008, and just came back in...huh. August of 2011.
Well. That's kinda weird. _________________ Arek | Kage |

even the best fluff new characters. Created a Jedi type character and realised to late I left a load of perception skills out. _________________ Gavin Storm

Yep, having a few things the character can't do well (to start) gives them something to improve in, and allows for some goals to be set for what they'd like to learn next. _________________ Currently Running: Villains & Vigilantes (a 32-year-old campaign with multiple groups) and D6 Star Wars; mostly on hiatus are Adventures in Middle-earth and Delta Green |

Exactly. Take my guy (current spec force infiltrator) for instance. They start with hide/sneak/search and command under Perception. BUT i felt someone like that should also be good at forgery and conning, skills i had to learn in game. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
