Of course, my friend! Although our characters over at the Realm are at odds, I truly enjoy the roleplaying we get to do as a result. Plus, since your character there IS, after all, an astrogator, it allows you to throw in countless 'factual' tidbits into your posts that makes your character that much richer.

Yeah, I love it when characters dislike eachother. On the flipside, I tend to really dislike it when characters who really shouldn't get along somehow do so because that's what adventuring parties are supposed to do.

Now, if there's a story that can be built around the building of mutual respect, which can then turn into friendship, that' great too - but I don't see that happening anytime soon with our characters. Laughing

And, yeah, having done the research on hyperspace travel and the galactic maps from the Essential Atlas and elsewhere, which was necessary to build my online nav computer, I felt I really had to play a character that had that knowledge. I've also been fortunate to have GMs who didn't have strong alternative views on the time-size and scope of the galaxy. It would not have been as much fun if they had.

Yeah, it's gonna take a LONG time for Louw to truly respect what Jeaubert has learned, especially after the trouble they're currently in.

I just hope we get to pick it back up again soon... Crying or Very sad

Speaking of '...the speed of the plot', whats with the Imperial fleet flying to Anoat, Han flying to Bespin, and when he gets there asking Lando to fix his hyperdrive? I dont think the fleet jumped until Anoat and the Falcon could not jump, but Anoat, Bespin and Hoth are described as at least two and probably three distinct star systems.

Not to mention they're all really close to each other and in the same sector (K-18 of the map).

None of my players have ever been navigators, and none of my GMs are as versed as I am in hyperspace lore, making it not worth my while to play as a navigator. Consequently I make my players use the essential atlas map, the thicker the line between systems, the faster the route. So main routes, like the Corellian run, are twice as fast because they are natural gravity-free pathways with very little debis. Smaller routes take longer as the gravity is higher and the routes have the potential to have more debris. None of my players have ever had enough skiill to ever forge a path for themselves.

I have long wanted to play a pirate/privateer who survived because of his exceptional astrogation skills. Being able to jump in any direction makes them nearly impossible to track.
