I can now definitively answer the burning question of:
While using a Force Point do you double the skill/attribute before or after the MAP?
Referring to SW2ER&E p.134, column two, example of Concentration:
Luke's player declares that Luke is also spending a Force Point to accomplish the task this round. Luke's starship gunnery skill is 6D. He loses -1D for doing one other thing in the round (using the Force counts as an action), reducing his starship gunnery skill to 5D. Because he rolls successfully for his control, he receives the bonus of +4D, making his effective skill for that round 9D, Because he is spending a Force Point, his skill level is doubled to 18D!
There you go. Thank you, thank you all! I am here all week, be sure to tip your waitress! _________________ Don Diestler

I could check, but I'm pretty sure that WEG covered this in one of the VERY few Q&As they had in the Adventure Journal. IIRC, they clarified that you double BEFORE the MAPs. _________________ __________________________________

well in this example the force point double skills after MAP...
Luke : starship gunnery 6D control automatic success
if force point double skills before MAP :
Result : 12D (starship gunnery 6D x 2) + 8D (concentrate 4D x 2) -1D (MAP for 2 actions) = +19D _________________ Phalanks

I am not sure what your trying to say. In your example, yes you double before subtracting the MAP but as I just pointed out, RAW say you subtract the MAP before doubling. So what are you suggesting with your example? _________________ Don Diestler

Well his example IS the RAW, so I guess he's saying you are wrong |

Except that, also according to the RAW, Luke can't do more than one action when using the Concentration power, but also by the RAW he has to spend at action to pilot the X-Wing.
So, technically, by the RAW, Luke shouldn;t have been able to do hat he did! |
