Over in the Star Wars D6 community we are working on expanding the random tables presented in "Rules of Engagement" p.118-119.

I would love to see people post their additions to this. Here is a link to the current list by category: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V30w-htIbWIT0EeCL_yL6wC-HxDs1WpIgo9bXtCqfSA/edit?usp=sharing

C'mon guys let's see some ideas for these headings:

Mission Type
Mission Terrain
Mission Complication

Suggestions for additional tables that would expand this information.

Suggestions people. Let your imagination run free. When this is complete and compiled it is going to HELP everyone.

I noticed that all of the adversaries on the list are Imperial.

Criminal Organizations, or a hostile alien population, could serve the same role as well.

* Swoop Gang
* Street Gang
* Criminal Organization (Black Sun, Hutts, etc...)
* Slavers
* Pirates

All mine are being posted on G+ as they come to me, figured I wouldn't dupe effort since you're linking to them in the first post of this thread.

However, it only just occurred to me that Centinull is correct, the adversaries assumes Imperial forces... adding criminal or rival elements as adversaries makes sense and would expand that list nicely...

This is a great idea and will add a lot to creating ideas for a game. It does not require all that much effort to contribute. So I am stuck scratching my head wondering why more people are not tossing up their ideas.

It's much easier/free/requires no effort to give ones opinion about a subject. Ask someone to put in some work/effort/volunteer and people run for the hills.

Perhaps that is reflected in the lack of interest/response to this posting/project. Then again perhaps its just been a very long weekend, I am tired, and people in real life have failed me over the last week. Maybe this makes me a bit grumpy. Will have to see how I am in the morning.

If I have offended anyone, then I am indeed sorry.

I like the list, but it would be more user-friendly if it were divided between NPCs and settings.

Hmm... some "countdown timer" sort of complications could add some spice to the list. Things like:

decaying orbit
impending sun-storm
reactor overload

Well I have compiled and made the tables so it is usable. Still not particularly happy with the randomness mechanic yet. I am open to suggestions on how to make it more random, either a different mechanic than a straight dice pool or perhaps breaking the tables down to specific areas. Please let me know your thoughts.

Adding dice together makes the probability higher for the numbers in the middle of the range. Do you intend for "enact negotiations" to be a more likely mission type than "Infiltrate Imperial Garrison?"

If not, then I suggest using one die as a tens-digit, and using one die as a ones-digit. Think of it like a d% with d6s. That will make the probability even for every item. You would have to start the numbers at 11 and have a base-6 numbering of items, however. You can also add a hundreds-digit if you have more than 36 possibilities.

Alright I have broken the tables down now to D6%. This has made it so there are multiple tables in some sections. Though it will take a bit longer to cross reference when rolling to generate a mission, it now generated without the bell-curve for the middle numbers. So it is much more "random" now than using a dice pool.
