So I've have and can find the D6 stats for the Mon Calamari cruiser but I can not find stats for the ships before they were weaponized. Does anyone have any thought about these luxury liner stats? |

The Dark Empire Sourcebook has stats for Mon Cal evacuation cruisers; that might be a place to start. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Reduce the hull 1d to 1d+2, no shields and limited weapons (even a cruise liner would have 3-8 weapons for defense imo).
Trade out the troop quarters for swimming pools, gambling establishments and shops.. Same for the fighter bays. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

The Kuari Princess was a luxury liner.
Compared to the same ship of the line, a MC80 cruiser |

I had forgotten about the Cruisers from Dark Empire. They are a bit over the top but a good place to start. Thankyou Crmcneill.
Thanks for the link Kyross. That helps as well. |

Might the fighter bays (some of them, at least) possibly still be there and contain escape craft? I know there are escape pods, but are there enough pods to contain a full-capacity passenger complement, plus crew? Also, would the bays perhaps be one of the ways (if not THE way) passengers and crew embark/disembark the ship? |

[luna.wolves] I am confused as to what you want. Could you give us additional information of what you need and what is purpose is? Also, with the number of really good suggestions given already, is your question already answered? _________________ Don Diestler

The shields should stay for two reasons.
First, Mon Cal ships are submersible. To do this shields need to be altered to handle water pressure...thus can't have them not on a submersible ship.
Second, one of the chief reasons the Rebellion were so happy to have the mc80s was that they were equipped with backup shield generators.
I'd suggest reducing the die code of the shields in lieu of removing them.
As to the hangers, I'd imagine a luxury liner having its own shuttles to pick up and ferry passengers. With that in mind, they'ld need hanger space to store those shuttles. |

They are submersible? I had never heard that before. Why would it need a higher shield rating to be submersible? Last I knew submarines did not require a shield to operate under water.
As a side note, I had heard quit some time back, that Mon Cal ships were designed to operate with an interior filled with water. Since the Mon Cal are aquatic this makes sense. _________________ Don Diestler

Maybe because a submarine is built to withstand pressure from the outside in, rather than the inside out the way that starships would be built. Also, space is not made of 'stuff' (at least not a lot of it), so particle shields don't have to be all that powerful, while tons of water is a lot of stuff all at once. |

Stock ships has the MonCal Deepwater class Light Freighter, states submersible and that the shields have to be retuned to go underwater. As to flooding the craft, I never heard that. I only know about MonCal doing better in moist environments and worse in dry as stated in the species write up. Also as MonCal cities are under water, having ships capable of traversing water/air/space would be quite useful. I think the Dark Empire comics showed submersible ships on the evac of their world as the World Devastators were going to it.

Well it sounds to me as though the whole submersible thing and the shield refers to a single ship design not all Mon Cal ships. Whew, thank gawd! _________________ Don Diestler

That's it exactly. There is no mention anywhere of MC80 cruisers being submersible. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

My reasoning for shields on a submersible star ship are for one thing, Star ships hulls are designed to keep pressure in, in a lack of atmosphere so the much higher pressures from water would likely cause massive hull breaches. _________________ People keep telling me that I'm crazy.
