always take the sheet to look at when a player 'dies'. i have had one player who proclaims he is dead whenever he is wounded. first combat where he takes a wound, he yells that hes dead and gets upset. looking at his character sheet, we soon find that his armor prevent him from being badly hurt, and he was only mildly inconvenienced.
generally, when i GM i hang onto the character sheets between sessions and keep them with my GM notes. in part because when i dont do this, people have lost sheets on a regular basis. and i like to require a physical copy of character sheets- digital only sheets make it very difficult to check things at the table.
but the Player is responsible for what is on their sheet, and keeping it up to date. |
