Rownn was gonna wait until after our meeting with Ekmire to approach Tiny with the task of imagining an appropriate roll for him within the structure of the group... if we're gonna Fast forward the training time and into the start of the mission, he can certainly go about that OOC. Let us know what he thinks 
I don't mind fast tracking the situation to get into the mission itself.

Except for porter Tiny doesn't have that much of a function within the group except during combat, his skills are not great for anything that doesn't involve hitting something, and even then that is mostly natural talent.

Are we on a train? A porter? Man I haven't heard that term used in a while.
Vong, on step one I thought Garolf, Rownn, and Zinn were largely against it being themselves as troublemakers but that we did consider creating aliasis for that. The troublemaker part was what Ekmire was putting out as the original mission plan.

OK, so it sounds like some of the things we need are as follows:
1) a region or planet in which the Peacers have been operating, especially recruiting or gathering supplies.
2) the name or names of a contact or group of contacts.
3) a ship
4) money for disguises, bribes, and supplies
The incognito members of our party will approach the Peacers' contacts with supplies, while claiming to have access to something they really want. Then they'll arrange a secret meeting, possibly in space, to show them that they have captured a Jedi. From there, they try to bargain their way into the Peace Brigade itself. |

I thought you were going to kill your jedi, instead of capturing him (so we dont have to split the party  )

It occurred to me that if we don't yet know that the PB want dead Jedi, then just capturing one might make more sense from an outsider's perspective.
Also the reason we need a ship is so we can smuggle the non-disguised members of the team, so they'll be around when the poodoo hits the skyhook. |

Either works for me... though capture will limit Rownn's ability to act as Parole Officer.
The original plan was to apparently kill Rownn. Rownn's body would be removed and he'd disguise to try and join up with the group. Again, it'd be a good idea to have another Wookiee matching disguised Rownn's appearance (which involved some shaved fur and burn marks) in on the efforts to get bad PR, whom Rownn would then replace... it would make inserting him easier if there's an existing precedent of character involvement.
I do kinda like the idea of being captured; it's reminiscent of Han/Chewie in Jabba's palace. Problem is working as Tiny's PO... and the difficulty of splitting the group for Vong.
Bu, like I said, I'm good with either from a player perspective. We can deal with the difficulties of whichever is chosen as we play.

The reason Rownn, Garolf, and Zinn need disguises is the very public and publicized medal ceremony at the end of the first act/episode/chapter

Rownn was provided a set of slacks and vest to cover his wounds for the ceremony so he doesnt have appear naked, but the Wookie refused, opting to show up normally dressed. Jo was brought out of the Bacta tank temporarly to attend the ceremony in a hoverchair. Much to everyone's surprise Cheif of State Fey'lya is in attendance. The largest hangar has been emptied to accomodate the majority of the staff aboard the ship as well as numerous visiting dignitaries. Holorecording devices are in numerous locations to capture the entire event. The Chief approaches the mic and commences his speech "I would like to start by asking for a moment of silence to remember those who have fallen to bring us to this point." He pauses for 30 seconds as those present lower their heads before he continues "We have suffered many blows at the hand of these new invaders. Lost many friends and familes. They destroyed Ithor just to spite us. We can not take this, we must fight back. This planet is the first of such encounters. We must continue to tell them We will not be bullied" as she pauses for a round of applause from the crowd "We have shown them that we can fight back, and we will!"
ooc: I am really bad at diplomacy, so this speech goes on for about 30 more minutes as he tries to subtly take credit for the victory that took place here.
"I would like to conclude this assembly by calling to light the extra ordinary efforts put fourth toward the New Republic cause. Would Jedi Rownn, Jedi Orrallyn, Second Lieutenant Cailah, Sub-Lieutenant Valimar, Major Kai, Captain Regulus please step forward." She pauses to allow the mentioned people to move forward. "These people accepted a mission that was dangerous, with a high probability of fatalities. They did so without a second thought as they hoped that the New Republic would benifit from their actions. I would like the honor of presenting them Cross of Glory" The hangar lets out a cheer and many applause. Borsk congratulates each one of individually as he presents the medal to each one "The New Republic thanks you for your service." He then goes back up to the podium and says "Thank you all for your dedication to the Cause of the New Republic. Would Major Kai remain, the rest are dismissed." He waits for them to return before continuing. "Major Kai was the man in charge of the ground mission which helped secure this planet with a minimal amount of casualties. Even as there was a chance of disciplinary action he made sure to protect his team from any blow back. His team has given glowing reviews to his ability to command a unit under fire, coordinating civilians, military, and Jedi in a single cohesive unit. They fought bravely and secured their objective even as the enemy was about to overtake them, it was under Major Kai's leadership that they held. It is my honor to present to him the Command Commendation Medal" to which he moves present the award as the entire bay cheers and claps for the stunned Shistavanen "You did a good thing Major, dont look so surprised. Smile for the holos." as he turns for a picture.
He dismisses the Major as he heads back to the podium. "Thank you again for all attending, and helping us honor the members of the squad who gave us a glimmer of light to hope for." She leaves the stage and the dignitaries follow. Captain of the ship moves up and says "There will be refreshments and finger foods in all of the messes. Feel free to partake. Dismissed."
When our heroes head to the mess they are patted on the back, and congratulations are given to every member. At some point during the evening each member is visited by Lt Eckmire again asking them to report to briefing room C at 09:00.

Takii and Anala weren't a part of the team at the time so they did recieve medals in that ceremony If they choose to go into disguise they certainly can and are welcome to do so. But Rownn, Garolf, and Zinn might get recgonized outside of disguise. Which could be serious trouble even if we consider claiming their fed up with the NR without taking an alias.
Now OOC I know the Peace Brigade would indeed turn over Jedi to the Vong and even kill them themselves to make the Vong happy. However in IC Garolf doesn't know this for certain. He would likely know the Vong really hate Jedi, especially with how they've gone after Rownn. And as the Peace Brigade has been made to sound like unconfirmed collaborationists, which he sees them as such, Garolf has to suspect any Jedi taken prisoner by them might be turned over to the Vong. He doesn't nessicarily suspect that the Peace Brigade is actually actively killing any Jedi they may capture but he does suspect that if their collaborating with the Vong then their not going to ignore anyone who might kill Jedi.

I dont know, disguizing one of the group's regulars might be a good idea too. That will help draw attention away from any similarities the disguized person has with the actual person. |

The reason a "Offer up Rownn alive" was not an option is due to the reputation that the Jedi have. One does not capture a Jedi alive, they go willingly (that may not be 100% true, but that is the reputation).

That's tough to cover up
I guess I should mention the idea that I've been working with, whether it be Jedi capture or death: I will simulate injury and/or death by using Hibernation Trance, with either a time-based or event-based trigger for wake up, depending on the context. This will give the appearance of death or near death long enough that he can be determined to be such without actually being really hurt.
If he's captured, he wakes up later, in vigour.
If he's "dead", he wakes up later, gets into disguise and works to rejoin the group.
Again, for the latter bit, if we can recruit another Wookiee of similar build disguised in the same manner as Rownn will be disguised to play the role that Rownn will fill after his death, that would be great. That way, there's another Wookiee building a bad reputation while Rownn is still publicly Jedi.
If we have this resource, Rownn can use a meet up with that Wookiee as the wake-up trigger... he can read his mind to gather the details of events that he'll need for seamless integration, and get in disguise to rejoin the group...

Thats a really good idea. It would give your character a much more convincing back story. |
