Thanks all. Anything involving any sort of publishing of rules might have to wait until I finish my move (sometime in the next year) as the vast majority of my notes are packed away and scattered across boxes. I have several D6 sci-fi adventures, but am not sure where my custom Star Wars adventures got to.
I have access to most of my D6 Star Wars and other books (except one or two of the GG's that were among my final purchases when my last group broke up), and am currently putting together some short adventures for my brother and a couple of his friends in my favorite "Fall of the Republic" re-envisioned setting I had created.
I do have a lot of planet, character, and NPC notes (which may still be of use even without the coresponding adventures). If there is intetrest, I'll try to edit the spelling and clean them up. Though, it is important to note that my Pre-Empire campaign is more based on interviews, storries, and source material released by Lucas in the 80's in magazines such as Star Log, and much of it is in direct conflict with the Newer Trilogy...I know there were some factional divides over new saga versus old saga before I had left the board, but another way to look at it would be as a Star Wars Infinity campaign (I believe that was the term being used for alternate history).
*edit - By saying the books I was working on were abandoned, I meant Books for the D6 liscense I was working on. There were two other partners who were to help me acquire a Liscense for D6 (before it went Open Lscense) and publish, as well as work on Rules. It didn't work out, and the only real material ever created was by me, and it became clear that I was going to have to foot the entire bill, which was just way beyond my finances, as well as being expected to do the artwork. In short I was working on books for Pirates, Gunslingers, Fractured Historical settings, Space-Pulp (think Flash Gotrdon in the 25th century), Horror, and lots else. Most of the notes are fragmented, but I will try to collect them and share a few. With all the rules I had been working on I tried very hard to keep in the feel of existing D6, and did lots of research both in the D6 systems, and in the real world effects.

With that kind of artwork, I think you could still put out some of your work under the OpenD6 OGL. I like the idea of Space Pulp and some of the others you mentioned.
If anything, I'd like to see the stuff you have if you could just send it to me. I can't speak for anyone else, though. |

Thank You
Most of what I have is pretty rough in terms of writing. If you want to PM me an email I can send you a few things. I just found my old .DOC source files for some of it today, and want to add information from my development books (collections of Spiral bound, 3-ring binders, notepads and legalpads I do most of my actual writing in). Unfortunately the few things I had that even begin to look like a book on the market I had used a lot of images not my own as I did not have time to illustrate it all (Weapons books mostly), so for obvious reasons I could not reshare those on any grand scale. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

Just thought I'd share and make some jealous:
A smattering of my D6 collection. This does not account for my entire D6 collection (and there are several books I own currently unaccounted for that may be mixed with other role playing archives I have in storage, or may have been lost to malicious intent).
Currently waiting on my Godsend Agenda hardcover to arrive. Will probably add U.S.E.R.s Most Wanted next month.
Has anyone here played, read, or tried either In Flames or Astral Empires from RPGNow? Both say they are D6 system based, but are not very clear in the description, and the review for one is pretty bad. While the other has some sourcebooks that sound interesting. I was curious how close to, say, the D6 Star Wars system they were? _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |

In Flames and Astral Empires are both part of OpenD6.
Astral Empires is patterned directly from D6 Space, which borrowed heavily from Star Wars. So the attributes are the same. Converting to Star Wars would be very easy.
They included things like advantages/disadvantages, so that would take some tweaking to get into the West End Games version of Star Wars.
The rules weren't layed out the best, and it's not really the easiest to find things in, but I'm pretty sure you could mine the material pretty easily. There's a LOT of it to mine.
In Flames is patterened off of Mini Six. Mini Six only uses 4 attributes, so you'd have to do a modest amount of work to convert to Star Wars. From what I hear of In Flames, though I've never played it, the mechanics of things work well. I attribute that to the fact that Mini Six is the simplest version of D6, so it's difficult to go wrong with it. You can always add more to Mini Six to get it up to the point of what Star Wars was like.
Since it's D6 in nature, only trimmed down, it could be used in Star Wars with only modest adjustment. You simply have to add more to In Flames to bring it up to Star Wars style. |

Heydee all! I've been mostly an old school D&D kind of guy. But some talk about Star Frontiers got me jazzed to play a scifi game. Then on G+ there's a guy who talks about Star Wars RPGs all the time.
The Play by Post forums that I run a few games at, recently started a Star Wars d6 game, and I felt like branching out into different forums. Your's was the first that Google showed me. And it looks fun!
Hope to learn (by lurking mostly) and interact when I can.
Be well! _________________ Star Wars WEG d6 PbP Looking for players! |

We're more than happy to help a newcomer learn the ins and outs of the system. Overall, it's a pretty simple game. _________________ __________________________________

First off, let me introduce myself and say Hi
I’m Lurker (a nickname/call sign I got in the military).
Last year I retired from the Air Force after over 21 years. I was a meteorologist, but I trained to work with special Army and other sister service troops. After I retired, I moved back to NE OK, started looking for an open history room to teach in (I earned a BASS degree and certification to teach all history and social science subjects).
Unfortunately, no luck there at first. However, I eventually got lucky enough the get picked up to work at Thunderbird Youth Academy.
As for gaming, I normally play (well when I had time to play I did) Troll Lord Game’s C&C. However, there was a discussion on their forum about D6 Star Wars that got me remembering all the fun games I had playing it back in the day. After that, I started digging around looking for D6 SW stuff on the net and ended up landing here.
You all had a feel like the C&C forum – more friendly and helpful – than other sites, so I decided to join up here.
Now I admit I am very rusty with the game itself, and way outdated on the cannon, so I am sure I’ll have a lot of newbie questions as I start digging back into the game and rules.
Well that about covers it. _________________ "And so I am become a knight of the Kingdom of Dreams and Shadows!" - Mark Twain

Welcome to the site. You're right, this is about the friendliest forum I've found. As to the questions, fire away. We love to answer (or debate) almost anything. _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

Whew, newbie questions. I thought he was going to start asking us for something hard! Ya hear that guys, he just promised only easy questions! YAY!
Okay, now that I'm done twisting your words, welcome to the boards. Generally, we're an easy going bunch. You'll probably get pretty straight answers for rules questions, and then you'll get six different interpretations if you ask, "Do you get a dark side point for..."
In terms of outdated canon, that's no biggie. There are a few people here that are really big canon junkies, and a few that don't care so much. To some degree, you're already diverging from canon by even creating your own characters and running around in Lucas' world. But if you want, we'll fill in the gaps if you'd like. _________________ __________________________________
