Hi there Smile
I was wondering if there existed any official martial art types besides:

Wrruushi (Darkstryder)
Noghri (Thrawn Trilogy)
Teräs Käsi (Shadows of the Empire)

My players are asking about different types of fighting forms they could learn, and I would love to be able to show them more than 3 if at all possible Very Happy

I know there are some listed in the D20 books (Hero's Guide, IIRC). Wookiepedia also lists some, including Echani, K'tara, K'thri, and Stava. There are no official D6 rules for most martial art forms, but the Martial Arts optional rules in Rules of Engagement are a good start for building your own.

You can also look here. It covers pretty much every martial art form listed in the EU, some with little or no details at all, but others with enough that you might be able to make a bit of a start.

Somebody did an kind of expnasion/variant of RoE too. THer FOrce based arts might be a little troublesome, as might the form special abilties, but the basic writueps look decent. It not offical though.

Here is the thread:http://www.rancorpit.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3809

Totally not official rules but some players including myself are MA practitioners and came at it pragmatically. Using things like the Noghri MA and creature special abilities as a rough guide, we decided simple game effect and gave a name, whilst special manoeuvres the players essentially are creative enough to describe ad hoc and go with circumstantial rulings.

So we threw in say, Echani Martial Arts specialisation of brawling, which gets you a simple +1D damage if you can find training in the specialisation. Players then describe martial arts moves they've seen in movies or learned in the dojo for circumstantial application, like say,

"I have no melee weapon but want to martial arts parry the vibroaxe attack by avoiding the weapon blow and then trapping the weapon at the hilt in hand to hand"

So I might rule okay for this special manoeuvre we're going to combine a dodge with a brawling attack at MAP with a +5 difficulty to trap the weapon and then an opposed STR roll for him to break free or drop the weapon. He rolls a melee attack against your -1D dodge, then you roll a -1D brawling attack against a reaction parry, at +5 difficulty. Either roll fails you get hit, but if successful he either loses any further attacks in the round breaking free and loses initiative, or drops the weapon.

Up to you but if you can't find much in official sources for MA systems, you might consider this kind of idea, or perhaps combining the SpecForces handbook special moves with game bonuses for other styles like +1D damage for Echani Martial Arts, +1D skill bonus when using Martial Arts against people not specialised in martial arts, etc.
