Does Melee damage go down the more actions you take? |

The number of dice needed to try and accomplish the actions goes down, the damage itself remains the same. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Here's a question- what about injuries? If a character is wounded and has -1D to their stats, would that affect their physical strength and thus their Melee damage? _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

Under the RAW it should, I believe, although I don't run it that way. _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

Page 97 of the Revised and Expanded rules says -
Quote: | The character suffers
a penalty of -1D to skill and attribute rolls until he heals
(through medpacs or natural rest). |
I'm not seeing an exception for soaking damage, only for making natural healing rolls to recover from damage. I play it the way garhkal indicated, but I'm not seeing a citation in the rules to support that interpretation. Anyone? |

This was already discussed in the Official Rules area. Here is the appropriate post by entropy.

I know we've strayed from the topic into the area of wounding specific body parts, but I happened to be looking up something in 2nd edition revised and expanded, and came across this:
Quote:
A character always rolls his or her full strength to resist damage (even if wounded), although disease and other circumstances may reduce a character's strength dice.
It's on page 80, 6th bullet point under free actions. You don't need a house rule for this. |

You know, having been RPGing since 1998, I didn't think I could feel like such a noob, but... can I ask you fellas to define RAW and 'soak damage,' or direct me to a glossary wherein I could glean their meanings? _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

RAW is shorthand for Rules As Written.
Soak damage is the roll that is used to resist damage inflicted upon the character. Thus, it means rolling Strength + any armor to resist the damage.
Deal damage is the roll that inflicts the damage. For most ranged weapons it's a die amount, like 4D or 3D+2. Melee weapons inflict STR+weapon damage. So a weapon that does STR+1D damage is rolling the Strength dice and adding 1D to it. |

Thank you. What about... was it 'MAP' that I've been seeing thrown around a lot here? MA...something. Probably another unfamiliar term for a familiar concept, but I haven't been able to decipher it from context, either. _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

MAP: Multiple Action Penalty
The penalty you take for taking more than one action in a round (2 actions -1D, 3 actions -2D, etc). I had to figure that one out too, hadn't heard it until I came here. |

I'm surprised this site doesn't have a 'stickied' thread somewhere with this sort of lexicon/language, to help out all the newbies. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
