Hi everyone,
FYI, due to reasons beyond my control, I've had to disable email notifications for new posts to threads you may be watching. The checkboxes to "Notify me when a reply is posted" and the link to "Watch this topic for replies" will still be displayed, but the emails will no longer be sent. I left the checkboxes and links in place in the hopes that the email notifications can eventually be enabled again. I apologize for any inconvenience.
This only affects watched topics. Email notifications for new Private Messages should still be sent as normal.
Please let me know if you notice any problems related to this change (other than the email notifications not being sent  ).

Any change in the intervening 4 years? I just joined, and I'm already completely paranoid about missing a reply to one of the threads...

Not that we've seen. Don't worry, though. Unread posts turn threads orange, and active topics generally attract a lot of attention.

These emails have not been re-enabled. Clicking the "View posts since last visit" link in the upper right corner of the site after logging in will show you anything that was posted since the last time you logged in. And as Fallon stated, the images next to the threads will tell you if there are new posts.
 This image means there are new posts.
 This image means you've read all of the posts.
NOTE: These unread flags are NOT maintained across sessions, meaning that if you login, logout and login again, all of the unread flags will be reset. They only show you new posts since the last time you logged in.
