Well, there's a lot that I know how to do now, which I did not use to know how to do before. So, I won't say that it can never happen that I develop a downloadable version. However, that is really not on my mental radar, or on my list of long-term projects.
It will probably be easier for you to develop a means of getting whatever platform you would use online - or, failing that, learning how to set up a wamp-server on the off-line machine you would like to use.

as an aside a couple of gaming groups spent a bit of time trying to chart the slice as according to general consensus but eventually the best galaxy map we've all come across, which works extremely well is the 2006 project by Modi et al of www.navcomputer.com (broken link), I understand it was based off an online map that was used and edited for some time. |

Yes, my work is based off Modi's maps, and their more recent incarnation in The Essential Atlas. |

Okay, I've been working away somewhat steadily. I finished the Sisar Run area last night, and the space around the Bothawui the night before. So, I thought I would show some of the 280x280s that I've come up with. So far I've got about 200 of these images (some of which I simply cut up from existing TEA maps that I downloaded from the Wookiee). According to my spreadsheet, I've got about 57% of the systems in my network imaged... so, I guess I have about another 150 images to go

Pretty nice! Are you able to take two or more of these and put them together to get a connection of maps via hyperspace routes? |

The problem in trying to put them all together into a whole is that many of them are at different scales. For example, if you look above to the one of the spinward part of Hutt Space you'll see that Klatooine and Ques are visible in the purple area signifying the 'Periphery'. In the image right above it, you will see both those systems again, but at a much different scale. |

So, I've been steadily making more 280x280s. I've done around 75% of those necessary for complete coverage of all the systems currently in my network.
So, I thought I would share some of my latest. As I've been doing this, I've been experimenting with different styles. I think they're more attractive than most of the ones that I've done before. Of course, that means that there is a certain lack of uniformity between the latest and the earliest. Oh well.

Okay,
It's implemented. On each of the system pages, there is now a small map (like those above) depicting each system's immediate region of space, with a small galaxy map to the left showing where that area is in relation to the rest of the galaxy.
The system pages are linked from the system list, here
Ultimately, I made 360 of these and took several months to complete. There are still some loose threads to tie up and I want to expand the network, and thus the maps, into areas not yet covered, but for the time being I'm quite pleased
Next project: creating a difficulty calculator and associating it with a specialized dice-roller for astrogation rolls. |

I have a ton of respect for the amount of work that has gone into this. Thanks for all of it! _________________ Arek | Kage |

OMG! That is awesome! I love it! I'm going to have to forward that page to all my friends and former players. I'll have to use this whenever I run my next campaign. Thank you for all of the effort you put into this. I know this took lots of time and effort to do. Thank you for putting this on the internet and sharing it with us. |

After a time of being away due to technical difficulties, the nav computer is live again.
Also, this is a shameless bump to the topic to remind people that this engine exists. |

Offhand, has anyone thought of compiling a database of x1 travel times with Coruscant as a constant and x as the other end of the dyad? If there ever was a convenient "hub" I guess Coruscant would be it.
I'm wondering if there is a more elegant, mathematical way to calculate a travel time in my campaign, than just making something up or looking up figures in an astrogation gazetteer table, like the one in 2E R&E. Various factors could be:
1) dyad in same sector* or not?
2) on trade route, common spacelane or not?
3) no. of sectors distant between points of dyad?
4) known hazards between pairs?
I could start with a base time (T) and apply mods to it based on those factors above.
* Sector being defined by the grid-lines in TEA.
Just some random ruminations. |

Brilliant job. I hope a mod makes this a sticky. |
