It appears to cover material that seems to follow in the Clone Wars cartoons, and I think that we're trying to keep this to the material that surrounds Revenge of the Sith. It raises two questions 1) what is the timline in which he interacts with Ventress. Is it during the ROTS movie, or before? And 2) is this something we want to include if it is happening during the movie as it highly involves an Expanded Universe character. I'm willing to dialog on these points. |
I can answer the issue about Asajj Ventress. He and Ventress crossed paths and sabers in the novel Yoda: Dark Rendezvous. The whole Clone Wars Timeline is in a state of flux, so it's exact time placement is unclear. I'm almost certain it'll be placed before the Obsession comics, which I believe starts off the Outer Rim Sieges, IIRC. Anyway, a reference to his duel with Ventress might be necessary, since besides his background, which is described in the Wook, he only made a brief appearance in the movie before getting shot by the clone troopers. |

In my opinion I think we can include reference from comics or books for the minor characters (those whom we dont have a lot of stuff )
but maybe not include the clone wars references , we can write them for the next fanbook |

Well, like I said, there's not that much about Whie Malreaux from the movie. The Wook and Dark Journey adds more to his bio. Whether or not cheshire wishes to include those in this work is up to him. |

I think we have to include comic and book stuff for peripheral information for the characters. Otherwise we are going to wind up with two or three sentences. However, it's when we get into references to characters that are very solidly attached only to the Clone Wars materials (such as Asaj Ventress) when I get a bit iffy.
Characters such as Ventress and Zero the Hutt, and the like may intersect with characters such as Anakin, but at that point we're pulling in characters that have an extensive history, but one that seems slightly out of place with the movie.

I have to agree there; when I was researching Whie, I had to pull a lot of sources together to get a coherent narrative for him, otherwise all you'd have was 'Whie prophecised his death at Anakin's hands, and it happened.'
My current understanding of the Clone Wars time period is that Lucas is retroactively considering anything produced under his umbrella is canon, however bogged down in Star Trek levels of backstory that might entail.
Sorry if I caused any problems with this one. I'm skipping over the big names like Yoda and Windu, as I think they require particular care and a lot more time to write than the ones I've done here. Expect another four or five this week. I want to keep on a schedule with these if they meet with everyone's approval.

Cin Drallig
After years of service and attaining the rank of Master, Drallig was appointed as a lightsaber instructor and passed down his skills to the next generation of Knights. Eventually, Drallig's skills progressed to such a level that when the position was open, the High Council elected him Temple battlemaster. Overseeing the other instructors in the academy, Drallig trained many students, eventually earning the nickname "the Troll.
Stationed on Coruscant throughout much of his career, Drallig taught the basics of lightsaber combat Forms I through VI to thousands of students, including such virtuosos as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. At some point, Drallig was introduced to the contentious and troublesome Initiate Serra Keto. Envisioning the great Jedi she had the potential to become, Master Drallig crafted her into a living weapon, tempering her aggression into her skill with a lightsaber. Keto's rebelliousness eventually subsided, and she went on to become Master Drallig's most accomplished apprentice .
At the height of the war, as Council member Mace Windu moved to arrest the Sith Lord, Drallig worked with Masters Shaak Ti and Jurokk to coordinate Temple security. When Windu failed to kill Darth Sidious, the insidious Sith sent his apprentice, Darth Vader, to secure the Jedi Temple in the name of the Dark Lords. As the 501st Legion marched on the Temple, Drallig readied his students for the assault. As clone troopers were felled on his blade, Drallig was made a priority target for elimination and Vader began hunting for his former mentor. However before Drallig and Vader could confront each other, Drallig's former student, Knight Keto, intercepted the Sith and engaged him in a duel. As Drallig rushed into the Tower of First Knowledge he witnessed Keto fall to the Sith Lord .
Briefly engaging the Sith, Drallig retreated to the Room of a Thousand Fountains where a large group of younglings were being protected by several Padawans. When Vader arrived in the greenhouse, he cut down Padawans Bene and Whie Malreaux before quickly overwhelming Drallig and hacking through his shoulder. With Drallig and the older Padawans dead, the remaining children were quickly cut down by blasterfire . |

I can understand what you're saying. A reference to Asajj, like the one in Whie's bio, is fine. But bringing in Asajj, when she didn't even appear in the movie - no. |

I've asked Gry to come in and take a peek. I can either try to discern his will, or ask him for his thoughts and the latter is easier.
If he doesn't pop in, I'd say just leave it as is. It's not worth stalling the project further. _________________ __________________________________

I hear you chesire. This project's been in the Force grip of Darth Real Life for far too long. |

So Cheshire is the project put on hold? Or is it up in the air? I know it has been a couple of months but I am just curious. I know the stats in the thread have been amazing already when trying to get an idea of some of the characters |

Without someone to do layout, I don't know how it could even conceivably continue. I think that this has become a hopelessly dormant project at this point. _________________ __________________________________

I'd be willing to contribute in any way that I can, but doing the layout is outside my area of experience. |
