"And the ship related fees and 5% of transport profit?" Bri'tan asks Daryn. |

"Transport profit? Isn't the profit from any load you transport already yours?" |

Bri'tan's eyes widen slightly, "So, you expect me to just ferry you around the galaxy at my own expense?" Glancing back at the main viewport at the direlect ship, he continues. "If you're lining up work and filling the Nerf's fargo hold, then thats your cargo, the 5% plus ship related expenditures is my fee for transporting it. My standard shipping fee would be 10% and I would get to choose my cargo." He eases back on the throttle a little more to give Daryn more time to reply before Bri'tan needs to worry about flying the ship again. |

Lurk smiled at Shadow's suggestion. "You think YOU can pilot this thing?" He choked back some bile brought up by the Captain's wild maneuvering. "Then who'd be keepin' me company out here?"
Lurk flipped on his comms to the cockpit and addressed the Captain. "Hey Jabba! Whenever you're done eating, think you could steady this floating restaurant? I lost my lunch— and a bead on two more ships out there. Think they were two clicks or so away. Try to not hit 'em."
Then he swung the blaster cannons around, searching the void for any sign of the mysterious vessels. "Heads up, Shadow. We ain't alone out here. Go for scanners and visuals."
Lurk will make Search roll, looking for heat signatures if his cybernetic eye has that capability; and (assuming he can see it from his vantage point atop the Nerf) he'll also give the vessel we just missed a quick eyeball too (two Search rolls?). _________________ Giblet Blizzard |

Hearing Lurk mention two more ships over the intercom, Bri'tan spins in his seat. Even before he finishes turning back towards the main viewport, he's already adjusting the Nerf's flight path, one hand nudging the throttle forward.
Glancing at Kage, "Once you have a hyperspace jump calculated, load it into the computer. I want to get out of here in a hurry if anyone starts shooting." |

Kage
(OC - In answer to your previous post, the ship is a modified Barloz Medium Freighter.)
Kage continues to work on his hyperspace calculations and thinks he will need another minute or so to make sure they are reliable before sending them over to Bri'tan. While he is working, he is momentarily distracted as he happens to notice a quick power fluctuation surge through the ship.
Bri'tan
Bri'tan refocuses on the task at hand and speeds up and away from the Barloz freighter. As he does so, he scans the space around them and happens to pick up two ships, fighter class, circling about 1.5 clicks away and forming up to make a pass. Bri'tan also notices a blinking orange light on the console, indicating an incoming call.
Daryn
Negotiations temporarily interrupted, Daryn glances back at his console and notices the scan data streaming across the screen. He notices that the freighter's life support systems are still operating and there appear to be two life forms on board. Also, now that things have settled down and conversation has ceased for the moment, Daryn hears a beep coming from Nihl's vacant comm panel.
Lurk
Lurk swings the cannons around, tracking the space in his arc. He does not find any incoming fighters, but he does glance at the unknown freighter and mutters to himself: "I know that ship."
Shadow
Shadow powers up his guns and gets himself situated, noting how he much prefers a sniper perch to a gunwell. As he brings his guns online and scans the viewport, he sees two fighters forming up and heading his way. |

Making a copy of the program to give him a remote link to the sensor station, Daryn uploads the program into the sensor station. He then says, "Looks like we're being hailed. Do you wanna answer it or do you want me to?"
He slides over to the Comm station and brings up the program on his bracer. He makes the necessary adjustments to tailor it to the comm station, then uploads it to the console while he waits for Bri'tan to weigh in on answering the hail. |

Dævon untangles himself and carefully makes his way to the bridge.

Letting out a surprised series of beeps at Lurk's observation through his intercom headset, Kage stops calculating the microjump and swivels his dome around so that he can fix his primary photoreceptor on Daryn. This time, the message conveyed seems more emphatic than his previous instances of communication.
Code: | You DEMANDED use of the sensor suite; use was restored as able.
Suggested scanning for HOSTILE VESSELS.
You IGNORED scan protocol.
Unidentified vessels PRESENT. Hostile intention probability: HIGH. |
Kage sounds genuinely distraught and angry with Daryn. It is clear that he thinks Daryn has put the ship, himself, and Bri'tan in danger by not taking over a task that Kage would have done had he not relinquished control of the sensor suite to the young Jedi. Swiveling his dome back around, Kage worriedly resumes his calculations, hoping that he can get them done in time. Fretting, he tries not to think too much about that power surge a few moments ago. He logs the timing of the event away for later review, knowing that it is imperative that he finish calculating this jump for Bri'tan.
[OOC: Is it clear what Daryn is doing with his bracer and the ship's systems, or is Daryn being careful not to let anyone see?] _________________ Arek | Kage |

Lurk patched through to the cockpit once more. "Captain, Medallea— I know that floating hulk out there. Gunrunner by the name of Kron. You save his butt now, he might prove rather useful down on Zolan." _________________ Giblet Blizzard |

"Go a head." Bri'tan says to Daryn.
Shifting the controls slightly, he brings the Greased Nerf around towards the two smaller ships. The prospect of possible combad is enough to make the big bith a little queesy.
"Kage, how are those hyperspace coordinates coming?" |

Not really as comfortable with this gun as his usual arsenal he turns the gun toward the fighters as quickly as he can, giving himself the maximum amount of time to start aiming at the fighter before he needs to fire, IF he needs to fire. "I've the two fighters, two o'clock slightly high. Anyone have any idea who these guys are? We have about 30 seconds before they are going to be all over us, I need to know if you want me to shoot these guys or not." (OOC - Shadow aims as best he can and tries to use the radar systems to aid in his shot as much as possible.) As the ship turns to face the fighters and Lurk gets the fighter back into view, "I have the one of the right, you take the one on the left," he yells up the gunwell. |

Daryn answers the beeping panel before him. "This is the Greased Nerf. To whom am I speaking?"
((OOC: I need to know if the programs Daryn entered are successful or not. If so, when there is not a situation outside, he will go over the changes with Bri'tan for approval. If not he will remove and study them.)) |

Kage beeps in reply to Bri'tan, and the Bith sees a message appear on his screen.
Code: | 30 seconds until hyperspace calculation completion.
Suggestion: perform or delegate scan on incoming vessels identified by gunner.
Query: are this vessel's shields up?
You always forget the shields. |

Daevon
Daevon collects himself and makes his way to the cockpit. Upon entering, he gets the definite feeling that there is a bit of tension hanging in the air. Daevon lifts his gaze out the front viewport and sees two starfighters heading straight at him, getting closer at an alarming rate of speed.
Shadow
Shadow focuses in on the right-most fighter which was closing in quickly. The fighter is bouncing up and down slightly, just in and out of Shadow's targeting reticle. The range-finder on his targeting computer tells him that he has about 10 seconds until the enemy is in range.
Lurk
Hearing Shadow from down below, Lurk ends his transmission to Medallea without waiting for a reply. Focusing on the left-most fighter, Lurk gets ready for action. As the adrenaline starts pumping, a grin creeps onto his face. Lurk notices that he will be in range in 10 seconds.
Daryn
Daryn hears Lurk's report from the gunwell just moments before he accepts the incoming transmission. As he finishes his greeting, a growling voice comes back: "About #$%)*ing time! We's wonderin if anyone was aboard that clunker of yers. As you can tell, we are under attack. We are moments away from bringing our systems back online and if you could buy us even a minute, we'd be much obliged." As Daryn listens to the other party, he notices out of the corner of his eye another blinking light coming from the comm panel.
(ooc - As far as he knows, the programs are successful. Though with all of the excitement in the cockpit and given the relative short amount of time it took, Daryn would feel much better with a chance to test the programs.)
Kage
The droid continues to fret as another of the Nerf's alarms goes off, informing him that another ship has achieved weapons lock and that the shields are not up. Frantically turning back to the navicomputer he sees that the coordinates are 30 seconds away from being finalized. Kage blurts angrily at himself, wondering that if perhaps all of the distractions have slowed the time it took to come up with reliable coordinates.
Bri'tan
Bri'tan brings the Nerf around and the ship lines up in a game of chicken with the two unidentified starfighters. Sweat begins running down his forehead and he notices Kage's latest message and reminder about the shields. At the same moment, an alarm begins to remind him of the same thing. [/b] |
