ok from page 21 of the Thrawn Trilogy source book, Luke is telling leia she has to build her own lightsaber, then he says,
"I Built my lightsaber with these tools, Leia. He said, finishing her thought. On Tatooine, out at old Ben's place, just before we rescued Han from Jabba the Hutt."
WHAT?! i specifically remember Ben handing luke the lightsaber in ANH. i never once saw luke build anything.
WHAT?! |

You mean the same lightsaber that fell down the Cloud City shaft along with his right hand after his confrontation with Darth Vader? _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

Try listening to the RoTJ radio Drama and reading Shadows of the Empire. In both he is shown building a new lightsaber to replace the one lost on Cloud City. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

And even if you don't care about the saber construction, listen to the radio dramas anyway... because they are awesome. The perfect complemenet to the RPG, IMHO, and a great inspiration for new story ideas. Just started a new RPG about the backstroy of the wounded rebel that reaches Leia on Raltir last month... _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

If you read the novelization of RotJ, it starts out with a mysterious figure (Luke) finishing the saber and then reaching for Artoo's dome. The implication is that he never even tests it.
I've always liked the scene in the movie when Artoo fires the saber and Luke catches it and activates it. He looks at it for a second as if to say "Yeah! It works!" |

Ah, the OT Deleted Scenes- that was, like, a treat I'd been waiting for my whole life, and they did NOT disappoint! _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

I haven't seen the deleted scenes from RotJ, were they included on the last DVD release or the latest blu-ray release? It would be nifty to take a look ... |

The blu-ray, and only the Saga set, I believe, not the individual trilogy. Still, worthwhile- they're why I bought a Blu-ray player. Saber construction, Moff Jerjerod, Wampa attacks on Echo Base, finding out that general Madine is a terrible actor... Wonderful stuff. (Prequel scenes are cool, too, but they are mostly rejected animatics, so not quite the same 'living pieces of history' feel. But a hilariously over-the-top-violent Obi-wan execution of Grievous...) Plus, you get the Boba Fett Holiday Special cartoon, so that's a plus. _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

Shucks, I'm regretting not picking it up when I had the chance even more now... fiancee kept pointing out that between the two of us, we had more than enough copies of SW to meet our needs, lol (she was the only person I ever met in person to have a SW book collection to rival my own, needless to say, she's as big a SW nerd as me, lol) |

Yes, I have the DVDs of everything but TPM (even though I'd rather have the SEs than the DVD editions; I feel like honestly SE ESB is the best version of the film- you get gorgeous cloud city, no tracked-over-music for for the snowspeeder chase, no bad McDermid Palpatine, and the only price you have to pay is a piddly little Luke scream... ), and my wife has the DVDs that have the original versions as 'bonus features,' meaning we have AOTC and ROTS in duplicate and the OT in... QUADRUPLICATE, actually... But I didn't buy the Blu-rays for the films- I bought them for the deleted scenes. I would've bought the set for the same price if that's all they had. This is how you must approach picking up the blu-rays, I think- is what you're getting beyond the films worth the price? (Plus, at least for TPM, blu-ray clarity and much-better-than-anyhting-else-in-the-prequels CGI Yoda are really worth the format.) _________________ Star Wars: Marvels, the audio drama: www.nolinecinemas.com

All attempts to reset to factory defaults have resulted in no change... I may have to call in to tech/customer service... _________________ RR
