Is anyone else having trouble with this site? I cant seem to go anywhere on it, all it does is reload the front page. _________________ -

I only go to that site every few months because the forums are not very active, and a lot of the active users also post here (and some threads ere less active duplicates of ones here). I just went there and had no trouble navigating. The search function (including new posts since your last visit) hasn't worked for a while, but other than that minor loss of convenience I don't have any problems there. _________________ *

errm ok maybe I need to rephrase my question - I'm not speaking of the forums part of the SWRPGNetwork, but the huge stat part that used to be there. Does that work for anyone ? or is it just me that has problems with that part of the site? _________________ -

Didn't work for me, either, but I almost never go there in the first place, so I didn't know exactly what I was looking for. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. I've clicked around on several of the links there at the top of the forum page, and it loaded other pages for me. If you post a specific URL for a page you are trying to access and I'll be happy to see if I have any trouble with it. _________________ *

that one as an example - if I try to click the heading "Type" then it simply reloads the page - the same happens if i click on anything under the heading _________________ -

The SWRPGNetwork has suffered (and been suffering) from a semi-catastrophic system glitch. It has rendered all areas, except for the forums, as either non-functional or extremely glitchy at best. The problem exists in the PHP coding that was personalized by the original administrator and person who set it up, Armage Bedar. He moved on and when problems arose beyond the real basic issues, theybecame unfixable. Moridin (Rodney Thompson) had one person who had volunteered to get it fixed but that person eventually stopped communicating. Obviously that person never got it fixed. Moridin is attempting to find another person to help out, since he is very busy with his work at WOTC, but finding someone to work pro-bono is proving to be extremely difficult.
When the change is made, it will hopefully get much of the material from the nether-reaches of the SWRPGNetwork and make it available again, but there's sadly no guarantee about that. As it is, the only thing the works "mostly" are the Holonet forums. Even those are somewhat glitchy (like the Search function).
The only thing I can suggest, as it's the only thing I have any direct control over, is to get on the Holonet forums at SWRPGNetwork and ask for the things you might be looking for. There's a chance some of the few people who still frequent the site might have the information saved and can send it to you. Some info, however, may simply be not accessible as the few who do post might not have it. But we'll certainly give it a shot. Just don't expect real rapid responses on the site as there are very few people who do post there and they seem to check at least once a week but certainly not multiple times in a day.
I know this might not be what you wanted to hear, but hopefully it explains any problems you might be experiencing. |

Yes thankyou for the update - It is a shame about the site as it was a great place to find stats etc. I hope it will get fixed sometime in the future but wont hold my breath. Having trained as a programmer about ten years ago, I would offer my services, but unfortunately I have never used my programming skills professionally, and so know nothing of php. _________________ -

...I've been trying to keep with that site, but my lack of regular net access has been the biggest problem. I recall a similar case where I was able to navigate it by simply clearing the cookies. I'd hate to see a lot of that work lost: perhaps we can duplicate it here if time permits. _________________ The man who thinks he knows everything is most annoying for those of us that do. |

Seems SWRPGNetwork's refit has finally begun. Looks to be coming along, slowly, very slowly, but nice none the less to see the site looking shiny again.
