I don't know that a rule is needed; A devious Director could have fun with the other rifle getting caught in the trees, the PC suffering a -1D to blaster because the other rifle slides off his shoulder onto the one he's using, it takes him an extra round to pick up all that equipment while the rest of the team is running away, etc...until the PC gets the message. There are reasons why real soldiers don't do this - use 'em against the players.
