I'm starting a new Star Wars campaign in a couple of weeks and I want to come up with a ship for the group to eventually get a hold of. I'm thinking of a stock light freighter of some type, does anyone know of any homemade freighters or really obscure ships I can use...something with a deck plan would be awesome!

A lot of that depends on your defenition of obscure. There are some really great ships in both the Tramp Freighters, and Stock Ships books that may fit the bill for you. |

Well, it's a crossover, but a ship that I wanted to run in SW RPG is the Aces and Eights from the Serenity RPG. You'd have to come up with your own stats, but if you can get a copy of the book, it has a detailed floor plan. As far as background, the ventral cockpit reminds me of the Gymsnor-3, so I figured it would be an easy fix to pass off as a Corellispace mid-sized freighter... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It also depends on what sort of feel.. I love the HT-2200 (the boxy front) ship that has 4 large ish cargo bays on the front. I also love the Ghtroc 720. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

I put up a small light freighter design with deck plan a few weeks back - see http://www.rancorpit.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3492 (emphasis on small)

I'm trying to avoid Ghrotc freighters or anything YT-ish.
Padre, I actually saw that one and seriously considered it, I just think that it's a little to small for the group I have, although it would be amusing for them to be right on top of one another...LOL.
CRMCNeill, I had looked at that a couple of months back and its starting to look good again...
Kell, I appreciate that...but you don't have to go to that trouble. I can't do deck plans myself...my stuff just comes out looking like something form the Blair Witch Project...LOL _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

I put our smuggler in a variationmof the dynamic class freightrt (Ebon Hawk). I found a cool concept sketch for it for kotor. I used tha game's deck plans except where the sketch diverges from the actual. I think I just moved some YT stats around for it though. Give a pip here lose a pip there. Would have to scan the player's pic as I have no idea where I dug it up on the net.
Though heavy on firepower, I always liked that Trianii (sp?) patrol craft in...Corprate Sector?
Ignore my typing, big thumbs, little touch screen haha.

Personally, I'm trying to avoid Stock Ships. I was really excited when that book first came out, but the more I looked at it, the more problems I found. The deckplans in that book seem to have been drawn up without regard for scale, functionality or a vertical dimension. The best deckplans I have seen on line are at the Star Wars Deckplans Alliance or at the Star Wars Design Alliance. These guys put some serious thought and detail into their deckplans, and they are far superior to WEG's. I don't know if they are still actively working on any of the posted ships, but Frank at the Deckplans Alliance still responds to e-mails. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Oh, I have stock ships, Tramp Freighters and the other various books. Just looking for something different looking or obscure.
I like the XS stock light freighter from SWTOR _________________ No matter where you go, there you are... |

Don't worry. I've been fiddling with them for awhile. You're just the motivation I need to finish! _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier
