|

In a few novels, we see that Stun bolts, due to being rings, can't be parried by a lightsaber.
So in games do YOU allow it? Not? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Most games I've been in stun blasts cant be parried although it's probably something you should bring up with the players before you use them.
If you really want to ensure they can't parry and don't even try then just use one of these:
Merr-Sonn Deck Sweeper Stunning Blaster
Type: Stunner
Scale: Character
Skill: Blaster: deck-sweeper
Ammo: 5
Cost: 500 (power packs: 10) Five additional power packs
Fire Rate: 1/2
Range: 3/5/10
Damage: 6D stun
Game Notes: Everyone within a 45-degree arc of the
shooter’s front is hit with a successful use. Characters
within five meters of the blast cannot attempt to dodge;
characters six to ten meters away may attempt to dodge,
though all attempts are at -1D penalty. _________________ Don't waste money on expensive binoculars.

I'd let them parry standard stun bolts. If I have an NPC attacking a Jedi (which most of you know I wont in the foreseeable future!) with enough knowledge of the situation to set for stun, I don't think he'll be attacking with a standard Blastech E-11 anyways. _________________ Or that excessively long "Noooooooooo" was the Whining Side of the Force leaving him. - Dustflier

Except that there's the power "Resist Stun" so that's kinda a moot point. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

True, it does have to be prepped and maintained. Of course, the player basically has to ask himself: "Is absolute immunity to stuns worth a -1D penalty?" _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

Although technically, a stun blast could also be countered by Absorb/Dissipate Energy, as well. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. It's expected that you will make up new rules to suit the needs of your game." - The Star Wars Roleplaying Game, 2R&E, pg. 69, WEG, 1996.

If they're using (most) force powers, lets hope it's a yes answer. 90% of the time iirc, for powers that are kept up, if you get stunned the power almost always drops (but can be brought back up) |

And also, if you have 'Resist Pain' active you are immune to stun. _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |

Resist pain? I searched the Force powers complete guide and only see Control pain. And nothing in that says you are immune to stun. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

But is that the Stun result right below Wounded, or the KO from stun shots? _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Well, it says any stun results. 'Any' seems to cover any stuns.... So by reading the wording Id say it covers stun shots, the intention is unclear though. Stun as a difficulty to 'control', but on the other hand you also have the above phrasing about 'shrugging off' any stun results.. _________________ My Biggest Beard Retard award goes to: The Admiral of course.. |
