Wow, I missed all the fireworks.
I think the other thing to realize here is that things need to be put into context. Star Wars d6 character stats were written well before the glut of novels, games, and prequels. Obi-wan, Vader, the Emperor and Luke are basically the only "high-level" Jedi that WEG had for comparison.
Retconning folks like Macu Windu and Anakin are going to be difficult propositions at best.
Personally, I could see bumping up Mace's Control by 1 or 2D. But that's just my opinion... what do I know?
Funny thing about opinions... they're like @$$holes... everyone has one and they all stink. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

Exactly. It's not really an error per se, more the fact that WEG couldn't predict the future, in that George would do whatever the hell he wanted with his films and tore through the EU like an F5 tornado, leaving the fans to pick up the pieces.

Too true.
I went looking for Sidious / Palaptine's stats to do a comparison with Yoda and Windu, but I couldn't find him the first fifteen pages of the thread. Were stats ever made up for him here? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Emperor Palpatine's stats are in the Special Edition Movie Trilogy Sourcebook. Page 44
His Force Skills are:
Control 13D
Sense 15D
Alter 14D
I'm assuming these are his stats just prior to his death on the Second Death Star. _________________ Han - "How're we doin'?"

But those weren't his stats as of the events of ROTS. He had 20 years between then and the OT to progress to the level given in the SE Trilogy Sourcebook. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. As I'm reading through the currently posted write-ups, they all seem focused on the history of Attack of the Clones. Since this is the Revenge of the Sith sourcebook, shouldn't the write-ups cover the events of E3, not just E2? _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Note that this was the AotC sourcebook development thread before it was the ROTS development thread. Gry has some bios saved that were made outside this thread. Use the AotC bios for references, but I don't think those are the ones going in this book.
I'm hoping that Gry will correct me on this if I'm wrong (if he happens to wander back into the thread.) _________________ __________________________________

You and me both! Here's hoping the thread is back on it's (correct!) track!

I say we sound the horn - help him drop in.
I know I've been curious how the books been coming along - think this is the first time in a while I've actually looked in on the thread though. |

Shouldn't there be a light in the sky or something....?
Maybe there should be the Gry symbol on a floodlight.... _________________ Blasted rules. Why can't they just be perfect? |

*I come back to you now, at the turn of the tide.*
Hi folks, long time no post. And I have to say I've missed this place, and you guys. Real life demands forced me to cut back on some of my online habits, but I think now things are settling down and I might be able to show up more often!
Anyway, I heard the Gry horn, and after my Carnaval trip, here I am. I'm very glad to see that once again we're trying to move this book forward, and I'm game for it, as long as we get some help in writing all this stuff.
Not so glad about all this drama a few pages back. It didn't even look like the Rancor Pit forums I know. But the forum regulars managed to keep a cool head and prevent this thing from escalating.
But what puzzles me is that I don't understand the root of this argument, Mace's Force skills level. Someone posted that he was a 6D+2/10D/7D, but in my AOTC book copy he's 9D+1/10D/9D, that's not too shabby. And in my notes for the ROTS book he's 10D/10D+1/11D.
So, what's the fuzz? _________________ "He's Gry Sarth, of course he has the stats for them." |
