Here's a fun little house rule that we have.
Spandex is when you roll all 6's (including if you roll just one die, but not if you purposely do a bunch of stuff just to get down to one die). If you roll spandex, whatever it is you tried to do, it gets done in spades.
(Where did we get the name? From Dr. Doolittle when Eddie Murphy is trying on clothes with his new thin self and says "All spandex!".)
On the other side is "snake eyes". This is if you roll all 1's. If this happens, not only do you NOT do what you intended, but you also get a MAJOR complication.
Just though I'd share. _________________ Beaumont Sebos

That's what I get for not talking to anyone. Please disregard. _________________ Beaumont Sebos

nah bro. thats very logical, i never thought of it that way, we always just use difficulties. i didn't think about it if you just rolled all ones it was catastrophic... |

Last I knew, snake-eyes was only when you rolled all ones on a pair of dice, nothing more or less. Craps term. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Indeed, Hellcat. We expanded the definition of snake eyes for our use. Just as we expanded the definition of spandex for our own use. _________________ Beaumont Sebos

I've also never heard of spandex as a gambling term, plus the movie you quoted was The Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy. Dr. Doolittle with Eddie Murphy is the one where he can talk with the animals. The only spandex I know of is the clothing. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

Yes, Nutty Professor. Not Dr. doolittle. My bad. Not an expert on crappy Eddie Murphy moves, like some of my players are : ).
Yes, probably the only "spandex" you know of is the clothing, and the only "snake eyes" you know of is in craps. But since these are our house rules, we can redefine the terms any way we want. That's the beauty of house rules. Anybody can use these rules (or not use them) and assign the terms "hamburger" and "fodder" to the results (or whatever other terms).
Just thought I'd share a long-running campaign joke/house rule. Never thought it would devolve into such a wretched hive of scum and villainy. _________________ Beaumont Sebos

Sorry, it's just that it sounded like you were saying he used spandex in the movie to describe rolling sixes on die so you guys used it for your game. _________________ FLUFFY for President!!!!

I have never heard of these house rules and I might consider them. |
