(...excluding Criminal Organizations)
Other than the Republic (old, Rebel, and New), Empire, Hapes, CSA, Chiss, Ssi Ruuk, Yuuzhan Vong, and the Mandalorians. _________________ Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional! |

Depending on your timeline, you also have Sith Empire, the Yevetha, Imperial Remnant, and let's not forget the Jedi Order. |

Falleen, Hutts (Hey, their government, they never made all that stuff illegal in their space), Trianii (not CSA members, but their own group with many systems claimed as theirs).

Not to be negative, but you might have missed where he excluded criminal elements. Triani is not criminal, but the Hutts are very much entrinched in criminal activity and the only Falleen of note and political clout was the head of Black Sun (which is the most extensive criminal organization I've ever seen.) Not that falleen aren't cool, but the only one I've ever seen that could be considered to make the planet a player was Xizor (sp?), and the emperor had the planet blockaded after he came to power, so the other residents were stuck to planetary fame instead of galactic.
I wish I could actually think of a group to contribute, but it seems everyone pegged the biggest ones. _________________ Luke, I am your father.
That's impossible!
And Leia is your sister!
That's improbable?
And the Empire will be destroyed by..EWOKS!
That's...highly unlikely.
The Force? Bacteria called midichlorians.
If you don’t take this seriously I'm out. |

I'll give you the Faleen, as by being stranded on one planet they are not much of a faction.
But the Hutts. Come on, they have several sectors under their rule and they don't suspect themselves of any crime. While their dealings in Republic and Imperial space are considered illegal, explain to my why a Hutt would bother to make a law against his own trade on his own planet?
Would you make yourself illegal? I wouldn't. Hutt does not count as a criminal faction once you get to Hutt space. _________________ My backpack has jets!

I guess I'll consider the Hutts for all intensive purposes...Would anyone consider the Great Council or the individual Houses themselvees of the Tampani Sector factions? _________________ Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional! |

With that line of thought I believe you could consider some of the planets, systems and species to be factions: The Corellians, the Bothans, Adumar, Thyferra, etc.... anyone involved in a conflict can be considered a faction. |

True. I was just wondering about all the ones we know of. Would the Bothons not be considered New Republic (or Rebel) though? _________________ Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional! |

I think if you consider the Bothan SpyNet and all that stuff, the bothans are their own faction, even though they are part of the Rebellion/NR. |

The Rebel Alliance was all the diffrent rebellions as well as other organizations banding togethor against the empire.
Yeah, I take back the Falleen comment. But to me, Hutts count as an organization that, within themselves anyway, are not criminal. _________________ My backpack has jets!

The Bothans kinda HAVE to be their own faction. Yes, they were allied with and part of the Alliance/New Republic. However, Bothans by nature are always looking for their own political and power gains. It's in their blood, so I'd personally have to always consider them a bit aloof of the government at large (even during Borsk Fey'lya's stint as Chief Councillor) and therefore their own faction. |

I've used BoSS as a faction before. there's a lot to work with there considering how little is known about them. _________________ Beaumont Sebos

The Ubese! Definately a faction, though low powered due to the destruction of their homeworld. They are trying to gather technology and rebuild their army to crush all other worlders. They make nice bad guys. _________________ "There's a set way to gain new Force Points and it represents a very nice system, where you're rewarded for heroism, not for being a poor conductor to electricity." ~Jachra |
