Game Notes
-- Stabilizer Strut: When the outrigger ski is deployed (normal mode), the speeder skims 0–4 meters above ground and gains its full Maneuverability. Retracting the ski allows up to 60 meters altitude but introduces heavy wobble: Maneuverability becomes 0D and all Piloting difficulties increase one level (e.g., Moderate becomes Difficult). Deploy/ retract is a free action but takes effect at end of round.
-- Skimming Kick-Up: Pilots making Difficult (20) Repulsorlift checks may rake debris and dust toward ground targets; on success, enemies without sealed helmets within 5 meter suffer –1D to actions next round (visibility).
-- Structural Limits: The V-4X-D is lightly built; if it takes 12+ points over body strength in a single hit, roll an immediate Difficult (20) Piloting check to keep control or crash.
-- Maintenance Hogs: After 30 minutes of continuous top-speed flight, engines overheat; make a Moderate (15) repulsorlift repair roll each additional turn or Move drops to 60 (180 km/h) until cooled.
-- Altitude beyond 60 meters without the stabilizer imposes Very Difficult control each round; failure equals uncontrolled spiral. |
