I don't know what others think, but so far both me and my girlfriend have enjoyed this series.

I have been debating with a co-worker, who - though he has not watched it - rips on the series and explains how Disney is failing and how they're ruining SW.

So far I'm liking the angle to doing a mystery, and exploring things through doing an entire flashback episode (I haven't seen e4 yet).

I haven't seen any of The Acolyte yet (we want to finish Bad Batch first).

I've seen memes bashing or making fun of The Acolyte, shared by those who haven't seen it. There really isn't any "debate" possible with someone who hasn't seen it, so that seems like a waste of time.

It seems that the show has joined Obi-Wan - a one-season show. I'm aware of the lack of viewership, but there were too many loose ends in the final episode to warrant cancellation. If they won't go for a season 2, then maybe we can hope for some novels taking place after the show. We have some novels coming that are set before the show.

My son and I abandoned The Bad Batch to watch this series, and we just finished it tonight. We'll get back to TBB here and there (all TV series viewing is slow going here anymore).

Yes, I heard that The Acolyte will not be renewed for another season. Season 2 was obviously the original plan based on the ending of Season 1. I'm sure there will be a book or comic book to continue the story.

The Jedi murder mystery was intriguing at first, but the show just got meher and meher as it went on. As a whole, the show didn't have much more than some cool fight choreography going for it.

What I had heard about the show supposedly being canon-breaking must have been a hasty conclusion made mid-series based on the fact that any Jedi learn that the Sith Order survived before they discover it in TPM. But as the ending shows, the characters who knew ended up dead, turned to the Dark Side, had their memory erased, or orchestrated a cover up of that knowledge from the rest of the Jedi and the Republic. So that wasn't really a valid complaint.

I thought it was funny that the show remodeled Legend's Sith violation of the Rule of Two (Maul was an apprentice of Sidious while he was an apprentice of Plagueis) by making the Acolyte (who ended up being Osha) an apprentice of the Stranger while he was apparently secretly an apprentice of Plagueis. It seems there were going for the "twins" being both a precursor to Anakin (created life) and also the 'Force dyad' (Rey/Kylo Ben) – meh. Since we know Plagueis eventually gets a new apprentice Sith Lord (Sidious), maybe the Stranger will form the offshoot helmet-loving Sith-wannabe Knights of Ren. Rolling Eyes
