I'm interested in the Fallen Order game that is supposed to come out this year. I'm really itching to get some good lightsaber combat with a jedi-focused game. It also sounds to be the closest to a spiritual successor to Jedi Academy. |
And here's the trailer for Fallen Order _________________ Don’t Let the Rules Get in the Way of a Good Story. |

I had no idea this even existed until I just saw this post and this trailer. The "NOT ACTUAL GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE" makes me wonder what this game will actually look like, but this cutscene stuff looks awesome. I was expecting this game to take place in the New Republic era before I saw the trailer, but it's in the Rise of the Empire era instead. Doesn't matter, though, I'm still hoping this game will be awesome. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

It's EA. It'll look like half-finished hot garbage that won't work right, and will have content on the disc that you'll have to pay for as "DLC". |

Sadly, this has been true much too often. Good trailer, though. I'd almost rather watch an animated movie than try to button-mash my way through another clunky game. _________________ Currently playing D&D 5E and painting an unholy amount of miniatures. |

I bought EA/DICE's Battlefront 2015 probably about 3-4 months after it released, and just before its DLC started dropping. That was a mostly good game that had some flaws. The DLCs, in hindsight, were actually quite good overall, even if they wasted the potential of some of the DLCs (e.g., Scariff was fairly uninspired, especially as compared to what happened in the film).
I bought Battlefront 2016 (a.k.a. "Battlefront 2") sight unseen, and will never, ever do that again. EA is, I suspect, directly responsible for the "loot box" fiasco, which basically killed game development for BF2 for about 6-8 months. Content since that point has been pretty anemic, although the most recent drips of content have been reasonably fun. Unfortunately, their business model for the game is fairly screwed up as a result of the initial failure.
From this point forward, however kewl a game might look, if it's coming from EA, I'll be (1) avoiding preordering (which I normally do anyway), and (2) probably giving it about 4-6 months of being out there before I start playing. And I won't buy it at anything over $20-30. |

If I hear that EA actually, somehow, put out a good game (mostly due to the people actually making the game somehow being able to do their job without EA getting in the way!) then I pick it up, used, in the discount bin.
I cannot, in good mind, support EA and its business practices. And, as I work in the game industry now (although on the tabletop game side of things), this has become even more important for me. |

So, yeah, looks a lot like another iteration of the Dark Forces 2/Force Unleashed style games. Fine for what it is, I guess, but nothing revolutionary. Hope they can improve the animations, which seemed...kinda outdated.
If it has a good story, I might check out a Game of the Year edition, but at this point, I'm really leery of EA-owned games, given how badly Battlefront 2 and Battlefield V have been managed. |

An updated Jedi Outcast is something I'm likely to play! _________________ __________________________________

Just found out that there will be a PC version of this. Good, because I belong to the old school that farts in the general direction of console games. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies

I wishlisted this at Steam, but I haven't bought it yet. Maybe for Christmas.
Yeah, I'm curious to see if anyone here has played it yet and what they think. Apparently more than 90% of the 15,000+ reviews it's gotten on Steam are positive. That's a good sign. _________________ Sutehp's RPG Goodies
