"Professor, a question?"

Tobias Pentag let out a deep sigh as he turns from the holo to see Soc Lavin with his hand in the air. Every year he'd had at least one troublemaker in his class. This year it was Lavin. The atypical snot-nosed brat of one of Taris's nobels, Lavin seemed to delight in interupting his professors with the most inane questions. Especially when those teachers weren't themselves from what passed for an aristocracy on Taris. Unfortunately, most put up with this spoilled rich-kid because his father was Kevi Lavin, one of the principle judiciaries for Taris's criminal tribunals. Better known as Lavin the Exterminator as seventy-five percent of the time he votes for those who come before him to be executed. Or, as he prefers to say, exterminated.

Lavin didn't wait for Tobias to acknowledge him and proceeded with his question.

"If the Jedi are supposed to be all powerful, then how is it they could possibly miss this one droid reprogramming the Republic's war droids to rise up in a droid revolution? What were they omphaloskepsising or something. Just a bunch of folkss meditating while staring at their navels. Maybe instead of Jedi they should be called the Wizards of Omphaloskepsis!"

At this Lavin's girlfriend broke into laughter, and several of the other students began snickering. But before Tobias can answer a noise at the back of the room shuts everyone up. Faces turn to see a squad of Taris Civil Authority officers enter the room, three of the officers taking up position at the rear of the room while a pair march up to the front. The more senior officer, a Lieutenant based on his rank insignia, marches up to Tobias.

"Professor Tobias Pentag," the man says in a no nonsense manner. "We'd like you to come with us. Please, do not make this harder than it has to be. There are, after all, students present."

Tobias actually lets out a sigh of relief, thinking that whatever the problem was, it may be better than fielding a question from that arrogant little.... Tobias brushes the thought away and smiles as he turns off the holo and glances toward the Lt. "What seems to be the problem, officers?"

Tobias pauses for a moment to collect himself, then smiles and says, "Yes, of course. Perhaps we can move to my office."
Looking up to his students, the professor says: "It looks like we are done early today everyone. Read chapter 14 in your text and be prepared for a quiz."
As the students are filing out, he then turns back to the Lt. saying, "Now, what can I help you with?"

Most of the class let out an annoyed groan at the mention of a quiz as Tobias turns back to the Lt. The man watches the last student leave before he turns back to Tobias.

"Treason, sedition. Espionage," The man says flatly. Tobias notes none of the officers seem shocked by this. In fact they all seem to be expecting possible trouble, though none of them have drawn their weapons.

Tobias draws back and lets out a surprised whistle. With a frown and a slight shake of his head, he replies: "That is quite a list of charges...which of my students do you suspect?"

"Students?" The man replies, slightly surprised. It's the first hint of any emotion the man has given since entering. Then he shakes his head. "I'm afraid you misunderstand. If we wanted one of your students we would be talking to them right now. These charges are leveled squarely on your shoulders. Now do you wish to continue this here or will you come down to the station with us?"

Feigning surprise, Tobias furrows his brow and then glances around to see if in fact they are all serious. After a few moments, he throws his hands up and with a chuckle says: "Come now, officers. I am 71 years old. Surely these charges are spurious." (can I use my persuasion skill here?)

"Yeah, Lt., this guy's clearly no threat," the officer at the front of the room chimes in, looking Tobias up and down and relaxing as he comes to the realization that Tobias is telling the truth. The three at the back of the room all make noises of agreement. However the Lt. isn't buying it.

"Quite!" He demands. "Constable Bastilda herself issued the orders to bring this man in. Do any of you plan to defy orders! And for what, the lies of this spy!"

He then pulls out a flimsi and hands it over to Tobias. It proves to be an arrest warrant, signed by Judiciary Lavin, to bring him in for questioning. However, it does not appear to be a clear arrest warrant, though it could be used as such.

Tobias will take the flimsi from the officer and searches for his reading glasses. He then clears his throat and begins to examine the document, trying to discern whether or not he can protest further.

The Lt. gives Tobias enough time to read the flimsi before going on.

"Having five TCA officers coming for you in the middle of your class is already going to harm you career, Professor. But if you are what you are trying to claim...." the tone in the man's voice makes it clear that while the other officers may believe Tobias he thinks he's just another scumbag to be brought to justice, "....then our taking you out in cuffs will end that career."

Tobias gently hands the flimsi back commenting, "Is that an official arrest warrant? I just want you to be sure, because if my legal friends find out this is a false arrest, my career is not the one I'm worried about. (con)"

Tobias lets that statement hang in the air for a moment while he searches for his walking stick.

Tobias sighs, grabs his cane and says, "Very well then. After you, lieutenant."

Tobias is led out of the school by the TCA agents and down to the station. As he's being led out he notes other faculty members observing the proceedings. Even worse, the school's dean observes the five law enforcement agents leading him out. He can see the disgust in the woman's eyes as he passes her.

Once at the station Tobias is escorted to an interogation room where he is forced to wait for half an hour before his interogator finally arrives. The face is instantly recgonizable to him. After all, it's appeared in the news often enough in the time he's been on Taris. Constable Asuir Bastilda, head of the Taris Civil Authority.

Constable Bastilda sets a folder down on the table as she sits down, placing a hand on the folder so Tobias can't pick it up.

"Do you know why your here, Mr. Pentag?"
