Been awhile, hope I still got my mojo got stats.
Quote: | SCORPENEK ANNIHILATOR DROID
In essence a much larger version of the Colicoids' droideka, the annihilator droid was armed with two dual rapid-fire laser cannons cocked back in the menacing form of a rampant scorpion. It could target with either a crimson photoreceptor, or with a composite radiation sensor. It also carried a combination particle-energy shield, similar to the shield produced by the annihilator's smaller cousin. Because of this extra shield, droidekas would position themselves inside the annihilator's shield for more protection. With fewer than one hundred annihilators on Colla IV, the Colicoids placed them around strategic or political resources. However, their eye was a large weakpoint and could be easily taken down by the slightest touch to the center of the eye.
History
In the later stages of the Clone Wars, Republic forces launched an attack on Colla IV, where a single annihilator droid took out three of the four platoons of clone troopers that had been advancing on the shielded factory. Advanced Recon Commando Stec was one of the survivors. Knowing more Republic forces would arrive, a CIS task force was arranged by the Colicoids to ship the annihilators to the front lines of the war. Annihilator droids also participated at the Battle of Formos and the Battle of Palahni, where they scored victories for the Confederacy.
A single annihilator could decimate a dozen AT-TEs and make them nothing more than smoking husks. Not surprisingly, these droids struck fear into their enemies' hearts, and turned the tide in the battles at Palanhi and Formos to score Separatist victories.
In the Outer Rim Sieges, Republic commanders had to send a large number of clones to take out a single annihilator, causing the Republic to further curse the massive droids. However, they did not have a huge influence on the war's outcome due to their huge price tags. They were so expensive in fact, there were believed to be less than a total of 100 annihilator droids in existence.
Like all Confederacy battle droids at the end of the war, in 19 BBY, the annihilators were deactivated when the new apprentice of Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, sent the deactivation signal across the galaxy from Mustafar. After the droids were deactivated, Emperor Palpatine (the public persona of Sidious) arranged for the remaining annihilators to be taken to the Imperial Department of Military Research. Many were then taken from the Imperial Department of Military Research and were transported to be used on Palpatine's private citadel on the Deep Core world of Byss.

-- Magnetic feet
-- Improved sensors (+2 modifier To Search checks)
-- Hardened: Designed with ionic redundancy the droid has a +6D modifier to resist ionization stun.
-- Dual Rapid-Fire Laser Cannons (10D; 3-75/200/500)
-- Deflector Shield Generator: Projects a circular shield canopy providing protection from projectiles, energy weapons, and restricts the movement of large, slow-moving objects (such as troop transports and tanks). A creatures may attempt to move through the shield barrier. To do so requires three full rounds of effort and a successful Difficult stamina check each round, failure and the creature is repulsed 1D meters. The shield extends 10 meters and provides 100% cover for creatures within its circumference. It gives a +3D Strength modifier to resist damage ignoring Stunned results. Wounded or better results subtract 1D from the protection dice pool of 14D. Once the pool is depleted the shield collapses, those within no longer have the benefit of cover.

If it's supposed to be very nasty, then it needs more than just 5d blaster... _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

Looking it over I did miss some important math. The history notes it could take on ten AT-TE's and leave them burning hulks. So the canons need to do more damage so upped them from 7D to 10D, so that the scale difference would make it 8D vs the AT-TE's adjusted body of 7D+1. I also gave it my version of the shield generator which is pretty nasty.
To address your suggestion of a higher skill. In the episode it was not able to hit character scale at all and was able to effectively hit vehicles and buildings, granted these were static and could just be considered automatic hits. So 5D skill vs a typical citizen would do so at 4D dodge and add that to range (I am sure if they see this thing coming they are full dodging). Against other speeder scale 5D is pretty darn good. Vs walker scale its 7D very good.
What do you think the skill should be and please explain.

Based on what you said above, it sounds like it would just make more sense to make thi Walker scale... |

I understand the reason why, but other than its movement, it doesn't really fit into how I envision walkers. Also, its about 1/3 the height of a AT-ST. _________________ Don Diestler

Since it was wrote out as "it took out three of four squads of troopers", its NOT just good vs buildings (which get no dodge) or vehicles.. So its gunnery should be upped to at least 7d. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |

There are many cool vehicles, devices, droids and characters in our favorite franchise.
However, it is almost always difficult to reconcile the narrative attached to a particular item (what it has done, it's reputation) and on screen performance.
Heck, there are often a lot of inconsistencies even within any given source (stromtroopers not living up to their description in ep4 for example).
Sadly, in star wars - there seems to be very little correlation between weapon size and power (again, we have to remember - a lot of done for how cool something looks) - those big guns LOOK like they should have been strong enough to blow through walls or large creatures in a shot or two.
I found these droids, in actual screen time - that their most redeeming quality was their durability, and more importantly their shields.
Their weapons did not seem to be that much more dangerous than say, an eweb. Now, we have to temper everything with the fact that everything in the game is protected by the plot armor or weakness it has for the story at the moment.
(one shot from a blue guy is more dangerous than 20 by spice smugglers).
Personally, I think of it as a speeder scale droidaka, based upon what I saw.
note: I am not attacking anything, anyone nor complaining - I am just saying it can be a challenging task to create something quantitative (i.e. game stats) on thing that are highly subjective - either on screen, or in potentially exaggerated flavor text. _________________ SW Fan, Gamer, Comic, Corporate nerd.

Especially when it's based on a cartoon, which often dismisses realism for 'what's fun'. _________________ Confucious sayeth, don't wash cat while drunk! |
