I suck at coming up with stats from scratch, so had been looking to see if anyone had done any for this... Hence me looking for the Force Unleashed book... |
Quote: | Imperial Dropship Transport (IDT)
Much like the MAAT gunship and RaDAir speeder, the Imperial dropship transport was similar in design to the Republic LAAT. The dropship transport was smaller in size than its Republic predecessor.
Its cockpit was elongated in a similar vein to that of the Lambda-class T-4a shuttle. The internal troop bay was opened by doors on each side that folded up into the ship upon landing. It possessed two large wings, like the LAAT, and two smaller wings on the top.
Around 19 BBY, several Dropship Tranpsorts were used to escape a doomed Venator-class Star Destroyer. They made it to the moon, but the survivors were soon all killed.
One such transport was present with the Imperial forces that occupied the planet Felucia and deployed a contingent of stormtroopers which came under assault by Felucian warriors. The shuttle had landed but the soldiers were killed by Galen Marek when he came to the world to rescue Senator Bail Prestor Organa. Another such shuttle was deployed by the Imperial garrison on Raxus Prime where it discovered Galen Marek. The stormtroopers present in it attempted to kill the Force-user, but were destroyed by the Sith apprentice.
A dropship transport was later used to deploy stormtroopers on Kamino when the clone Marek attempted to escape. Several more were constantly used to ferry troops to combat the test subject as he attempted to escape. Afterwards, dropship transports were used at Tarko-se on Cato Neimoidia when Starkiller arrived on the planet to free his progenitor's Jedi mentor, Rahm Kota. During the Assault on Kamino, two dropships were used to assault the rebel positions until General Rahm Kota called Starkiller to aid them. The clone used the Force to send TIE Fighters strafing Timira City crashing into the transports.

You're welcome.

It was a pretty easy conversion as I used a lot from the updated version of the LAAT/i I have. You are right though, the ship itself looks pretty awesome. I would like to mention, this version of the ship is Legends and in canon is different. Not sure why, but it is. _________________ Don Diestler

You have stats for a LAAT/i?
Can you provide them by any chance?

Yeah I noticed that as well... I've got a feeling it's because it was from The Force Unleashed originally, which I believe was prior to the Disney merger and probably needed to be 'updated' for Disney/SW canon, I saw a few things like that, it's like they swept a bunch of stuff into Legends and did their own versions. _________________ "For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble." |

Suggestion: since this is specifically a "dropship" transport, and all other official dropship stats have much higher speeds when making their descent into atmosphere, maybe give this the similar treatment with two separate atmosphere speeds: one for normal ops, and one a lot faster during the drop. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. The way the craft was used in The Force Unleashed was more of a LAAT/i type craft than a dropship IIRC, it's been a while since I played that game.
Designed to deploy troops and provide support.
So I'm not even sure the word Dropship in the name even fits, so I don't know about increasing the speed in that way.
But that's my opinion. _________________ "For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble." |

Well, one doesn't discount the other. A craft could be equipped to do a high velocity drop to either get troops on the ground fast or to provide support as quickly as possible. Once it gets there, it would operate just like a LAAT/i; it would just get there from orbit a lot faster, hence the inclusion of "Dropship" in its name. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Maybe that weird-looking module between the cockpit viewports could be an enhanced bow particle shield projector that allows the ship to protect against re-entry heat... _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation.
