The Revised Core Rulebook of WotC gave the Force Adept the ability to empower their weapon with the Force, making it capable of resisting a lightsaber. It's akin to how Vodo-Siosk Baas was able to fight against Exar Kun with his staff and not have his staff sliced in two by Exar Kun's lightsaber. Vodo Siosk-Baas empowered his staff with the Force. It's listed as Force weapon in the Force Powers PDF edited by Thiago S, Aranha.
Here's the scenario:
My character is using Force weapon on his knife to parry a lightsaber. He breaks away from his opponent, looks around, and sees an ally about to be ambushed by another opponent. My character decides to act and throw his knife at the ambusher. If it were just a normal knife, it would inflict the appropriate damage. If it were a vibroknife and was turned on before being thrown, the vibroknife would still be on, and the damage it could inflict would be higher. What about the knife my character was using Force weapon on? Would it still "retain" a charge of Force energy and inflict the additional damage offered by Force weapon, or would it lose the charge, becoming a normal knife and inflicting the amount of damage one would expect from a normal knife. |

The Force Weapon D6 power says it lasts 5 rounds, so as long as your character is within those allotted rounds when he throws the knife,
then it will still be a Force Weapon and have the appropriate damage. |
