Star System: Every Star A Destination
There is a new D6-Compatible book that is put together by a bunch of WEG alumni. Apparently it is eight adventures in a science fantasy setting. It's not Star Wars (for legal reasons probably), but it looks like it's made for us folk.
Eric Trautmann announced it on Twitter. It's available for print and pdf on September 7.

Look at the names on the cover. JUST LOOK AT THEM!!! _________________ __________________________________

Yes! When I asked for more details, this was the reply I got:
Quote: | It is an anthology of 8 adventures, each written by former West End Games writers and editors, ready to be dropped into any D6 space-fantasy (wink, wink) campaign.
This is the first of a new line of products. There will be more. |
Wink wink indeed! I'd like to get a physical copy if possible. It's nice to get a new book for this dead game, authored by authors of the dead game, even if it officially can't be affiliated with the IP of the dead game. _________________ *

Yeah, I don't know if they're going to offer a physical and PDF combo, but I'm planning on getting a physical and PDF combo. _________________ __________________________________

I may have to alter the deal at home and make room in the budget for these. _________________ RR

LoL, Gareth-Michael Skarka blocked me on FB over a difference of opinion on DisneyWars, and he's the founder of Adamant Entertainment. Still, I may have to hold my nose and open my wallet because 7 out of 8 is still pretty good. _________________ "No set of rules can cover every situation. Most of Adamant's stuff is available as POD, so I would guess that there will be a physical book you could buy. |

Yeah, and especially since Eric Trautmann fronted the money to pay the authors and artists himself, supporting this particular product would be a great way of rewarding that kind of ethical treatment of content creators, especially since a lot of content creators have been hit hard by the cancellation of GenCon. _________________ __________________________________

Star System: Every Star A Destination

The PDF, printed book, and PDF+Printed combo are all $24.98, so the combo is priced to sell. Even with media mail shipping plus state and local taxes, the total for me was $31.70, which is still a great deal over only getting the PDF for $24.99.
I've taken a quick glance at the 137-page PDF. It's Open D6. The default game system is "D6 Plus," a variant of D6 Space with minor tweaks that make it seem even easier to adapt to Star Wars. The nostalgic style seems to be very early-90s, WEG SW RPG 2e (Blue Vader). The purchase includes bonus PDFs with parts of the main PDF that have permission to print for personal use. And of course there is a memoriam for Daniel Scott Palter near the start of the main PDF.
I am so glad to have this and can't wait for physical book (which could be a few weeks). _________________ *

I grabbed one too. This is just like an old-school WEG book. The adventures begin with an Introduction and a sidebar that features as quick-start overview. It makes it an easy scan if you're looking for what do to for an upcoming adventure. Just a few minutes tells you if it's a match, adaptable, or just skip on to the next one.
There are already a couple that I think would have a place in my current campaign, and I'm still skimming the first half of the book.
Priced this low, there's no reason not to jump on this if you get inspiration from WEG adventures. _________________ __________________________________

Mine just arrived in the mail a few minutes ago, so it went out and got here fast. I even selected Media Mail shipping, so I was expecting a lot longer wait. _________________ __________________________________

I received my soft cover copy of the book yesterday. Nice to have a book in my hands, even though I own the PDF of it. |

Mine came today. I flipped through it and it looks really cool.
This was my first DriveThruRPG POD book. Based on this good experience, my next POD purchase is the original Star Frontiers box set in single color hardback book form. It's a scanned image book so I know the quality will not be as good, but it is a lot cheaper than getting the box set on eBay. _________________ *
