Feedback on these would be helpful. Suggestions on how to make it better or even a "hey nice job" would be appreciated. This is an except of the original thread HERE.
Quote: | FILORDI
Filordi care about two things: making their homeworld less hostile, and getting away from it. Some Filordi prefer to make what they can of their homeworld; thus they have begun terraforming in earnest. Hardy and intelligent, a Filordi adapts to whatever circumstances it finds itself in, at least for the moment. Filordi are driven to succeed, but seem incapable of planning for long-term success. In this way, they are a short-sighted species. To survive, they consume every bit of any resource that comes their way. Frequently the best way to defeat a Filordi is to give it what it wants, then leave before it changes its mind. Filordi are asexual; they reproduce while dying. A week after its host has died, an infant Filordi crawls from the corpse of its predecessor.
Personality: Persistent, resourceful, creative, and ruthlessly opportunistic.
Physical Description: About 1.4 meters tall, Filordi have six limbs: they're two-armed quadrupeds. Two arms hang from a Filordis's shoulders. Long, spindly front legs grow from its abdominal area. Shorter stubby back legs extend from its hindquarters. Both legs have pincer toes and flat feet-the pincers face rearward on front legs and forward on the back legs, In a brawl, a Filordi usually crouches on its hind legs, fighting with its arms and pincers.
Filordi can rise up and walk in a bipedal fashion, but this is very tiring. Their faces are humanoid. Their large ears can fold down over their eyes to protect them from wind and rain. Their bodies are covered in light-colored short hair, sometimes marked with stripes of blue.
Filordi Homeworld: Filordis, a world circling a red star, is a rocky wasteland with fierce winds and frequent thunderstorms.
Language: Filordi speak Filordian. They can speak Galactic Basic with gravelly voices that miss some of the consonant sounds.
Example Names: Grizztil, Furran, Hizkal.
Adventurers: Filordi leave their homeworld to find better places to live. Most places are better than their homeworld, so they can be found almost anywhere. Once out in the galaxy, they dabble in many different pursuits, largely because they cannot focus on any one pursuit at great length. They are very few Filordi nobles, and no Force adepts among them. Though a few have trained as Jedi.

Huh. If these guys die to reproduce and a single young emerges, how does their population ever increase? Do some emerge as twins or more?
I guess it sort of fits with why they don't have long term planning.
Interesting species again though. Seems like the stat block is reasonable and doesn't look glaringly unbalanced to me. Accuracy of conversion isn't
something I can comment on, maybe someone more familiar with the original can.
The blurb mentioned they protect their eyes with their ears from inclement weather, did that have a game effect in D20 or was it just blurb there as well?
Thanks for posting these shootingwomprats
