I realize this will come as a disappointment to many of you, but I am still a regular visitor of this site. I have no plans to leave, and fully intend to post more as soon as something strikes my fancy.

And for this, I offer everyone my most heartfelt apologies.

LOL. Many months back, I remember you mentioning to me something about a YT variant you had in mind. Did you ever post that?

No, but it's still there. It's a re-working of the YT-1210 from Tramp Freighters as a barge or container pusher, but it will dependent on working out a cargo weight vs. cargo volume rule.

Basically, the big forward spar on the -1210 would be a combination tensor field / tractor beam projector, used to stabilize the barge/container in transit. With the loss of the forward mandibles, a lot of the ship's systems would have to be moved into the saucer section, thus sacrificing cargo volume without the equivalent loss of cargo weight capacity.

The Wayfarer (the YT with the bow cargo section) would go the opposite direction, with the same cargo weight capacity, but with expanded cargo volume.

The stock YT-1300 that we all know and love would, in turn, be a more standard variant equipped with an automated cargo handling system that uses servo arms to feed shipping crates into/out of the loading hatch at the front of the saucer section between the mandibles.

Oh, this is awesome. 4 votes as of this post and they're ALL for "Cake". I've never seen a 100% vote percentage on a poll in this forum before!

And someone had to go screw it up, probably just to tweak you. Oh well; everyone else seems to have me pretty well figured out.

Indeed, who would ever say no to cake? Well, besides the people who prefer pie....
